Bought a r5 gearbox of somebody on here a while back but only came to fitting it to my car recently, it has fresh oil etc. Ive adjusted the gearselector to death and every gear is fine bar second.. second gear has a tendancy to pop out, when engadged, it takes very little force with your hand for it to move out, and one any knock on the road and it drops back into neutral. Ive adjusted the linkage to make it push as far forwards as possible, and second gear is 100% as endaged as it can ever be, would i be right in saying new gearbox time ?

If it's ajusted properly like you say then it sounds like it is new box time, the box will go on like this, you will just have to hole it in gear, I did 20k on a box like that, I still hold it in second now no matter what car I'm driving :wasntme:

it'll be the gear selector inside the box? - take it apart and have a look?

Get sparkle to do then :)

Not quite as drastic but I replaced the synchro on 5th gear not so far back. If you get a new box why not split it just for having a look and a dabble sake :)
