That's pretty interesting - what boost you on there?
I think I remember Phil saying 26psi
What phil didn't say is that's his big spec EFI engine with VNT, It's not going to be remotely similar to a 285 in a carb fed, non VNT engine :crap:

what could bhp could you make with 20psi carb gt28 and a 285 + side exhaust? trying to gauge whether its going to be where i want it (200-220) or if a b18 will be a better option.
0 degrees?? Whats it dialled in at? If you want more top end power dial in some retard?

:agree:What should also be mentioned is that Mark runs a VNT also but not the same setup as Phil's, Mark's VNT comes in alot more agreesive than Phil' due to the different actuator setup. From memory phil's VNT actuator pulls closed to restrict vane flow / boost like the normal diesel engine setup. Were as Mark's aka the turbo developments VNT uses the actuator arm length to control the flow over the vanes by using the actuator arm to push open the vanes to a set limit / length to attempt restriction of the flow / boost level hence the spiking peeps get.
Mark you should have mentioned your complete spec, from memory yours is a High Comp MSM engine although i know you have changed the head recently and run dished pistons in a skimmed block so you may be about std comp now, 285 cam (now), large venturi carb,

yes fella u know more about my car than me! lol
when i said its set to 0 its basically centred on the vernier, so its 110deg i think
Out of interest mark what was your comp ratio to make it high comp

Probably miles away from 110 if its just centered mate, get a dti on it and do it properly
