i have recently purchased a leon cupra r and the air con doesnt work.
i have just had it pressure tested and it was empty so we topped it up with gas. upon doing this you can now hear the compressor click in and run, but i still get no cold air.
the previous owner did a fault check and it came back with

22.1 (f118) a/c refiridgerant high pressure switch , static open.

he also had the fault investigated and a note was made saying
"HVAC-fault code"
00792 - A/C pressure switch (f129)
31-00 open or short to ground.

in my notes it says compressor will remain off until switch closes.

can anyone help explain these readings and where i need to start looking or the high pressure switch please. any help will be much appreciated.

Is there a switch on the compressor itself? Check for any wiring going to the compressor

Compressor is 'clicking' in and running so dont think it will be a compressor fault, they either work or dont. Has it held all the gas in still? it should of been fillled with some dye so if it dumps the gas yourl be able to use a uv light to find the leak (if it leaks that is)

I had 2 low speed fans burned out so I have repaired those. Tried to clear the fault but it reappears. Mechanic thinks the switch has gone faulty but it's going into seat main dealer tomorrow for further inspection.

Seat main dealer...paah. I've a 1552 at work (vag com). It's not unheard of with the low speed fans, normally the fuses blow on top of the battery. Ther was a recall on the fans many moons ago, mostly affected most 1.8t's and diesel pd's

It's climatronic in the Cupra. If you you get stuck call me.

I can speak to someone I know at vag technical who is a book of knowledge on fault finding and has an answer within minutes if needs be.
