Today i stripped 2 oil pumps to check for wear, they both came back well within tolerance. But something i cant find any info on is scoring marks. As its a moving objuect i wondered if this could cause any unwanted noise. Both oil pumps had similar scoring marks like in the picture below.
Are these alrite and normal, or should they be binned, or even polished? Thanks:)

Will be pretty common altho that looks a fair bit worse than mime, and my pressure was v low. The surface that bolts to the housing containing the pump internals should be perfectly flat, I polished mine till there were no marks. I'd replace the internals too.
if the big circle is scored in the body of the pump, its fecked.
i use a sharpening stone to flatten off the bottom of the pump.

Well there is light scoring all over both pumps, so even a refurb kit wouldnt cut it, complete oil pump then? Or if i can get the surfaces cleaned up will this be ok?
