Standard gt box (jb3) is about as good as your going to get :agree:

std will be fine, just put a new clutch in or paddle one if your going for over 200bhp. makes sure you know the source of the new box too as they often loose 2nd gear.

You would need a JB3009 or a JB3014, one is a phase 1 gtt gearbox the other is a phase 2gtt.

Main difference between the two are the diff bearing types and sometimes the syncro springs and rollers.
Diff/final drive ratio is the same, for these boxes, as are the gear ratios and both have elec speedo pick ups with a lead, not a speedo cable.

So is the box i have going to be to weak do you think? is there any other options for a gearbox i could use other than standerd Thanks for help

Off the top of my head, that box would have been fitted to a late R5, normally aspirated 1.4 like a GTL or something very basic with low power.
I think the diff bearings are slightly smaller on these.....

Ideally you would want the 'boxes for the R5 GTT.

Yea i am going to have to get a new gearbox to replace the one i have but i wonderd if there is something even better than a standerd gearbox

Stronger? poss a JC5 from a diesel, but you will be stuck with the same speedo drive problem.

Just to put you in the picture with the JB3 gearbox, we run these in our race cars (with a limited slip diff). and they put up with over 200bhp on circuit very well.;)

I think the 032 has a different 5th?. I'll check it out later.
I remember the 11 turbo had a shorter diff/final drive ratio.
