OS driveshaft

Just went to get a new OS/drivers side driveshaft for my 5 gt turbo. The old one has a metal ring on the end of the shaft just after where the roll pin fits. The new one didnt have this. Do I need to take the old one off ?. Was in my lunch break so had no tools with me to try. Also new shaft was about a half inch shorter when both compressed. Anyone know the correct length, 695mm ?

Where did u get it from? Sounds like they sold u a campus shaft

I didn't get it as I wanted to check first. They are going to order another in so I can compare again.

Anyone know for certain if the driveshaft should have this ring on the gearbox end. Going back to the factors again tomorrow but don't want to be palmed off with the wrong part. Trouble is wont be fitting it for a few months so if it is wrong I may struggle to get my money back.
