Are you talking about starter not spinning the engine over or the engine is stuck and won't move?

Try turning it over on the bottom pulley mate, see if its the engine or just a jammed starter motor

Is this just after a rebuild?

I removed the starter so thats not jamed. I was jacking the car up from the rear end with the car in gear then i hear a bang the car moves forward a bit and now the engine and flywheel wont move

Random!

There are a few things it could be but are all a pain in the arse, but I'd start in this order assuming that the gearbox is disengaged.

0.01 - check nothing has dropped into the flywheel housing.
0.1 - Remove alternator belt and re-check.
1. Rocker cover and have a look to see if everything is ok.
2. Remove Dizzy gear and check.
3. Sump of and take out oil pump and see if that free's anything up.
4. Slacken off all con rods and check.
5.Slacken off all crank bearings and check.
6. Remove timing chain cover and check.

After that it's head off time and strip down, but got to say this is as random as it gets.

Is there any way of testing if the diff or gear box is broke or drive shafts. i have had the engine turning over before the bang when i was jacking up the car in gear but since then the flywheel wont move

Silly question, but does the clutch feel ok?

If so, is it still jammed if you have the clutch pressed?

The clutch feels ok. i jacked up one side of the car and spin the wheel with clutch down in first gear then up the clutch and it locked up

To see if its gearbox or not have someone press clutch pedal down and then try rotate engine, if its still locked up your looking engine side.

Its very rare but i have seen it twice, might be worth taking timing chain cover off and checking chain not snapped

Do i need to remove the sump first or can i just remove the timing chain cover

It is possible to just remove the timing chain cover on its own

I removed the timing chain cover the chain is not broke the chain is a loose on the side with no tensioner

Least chain is ok then:agree:

I'd be looking around the flywheel area then mate, see if anything is in there. Remove the cover plate underneath the car you can sort of see past the teeth and see if anything is down there.

Is the chain ment to be tight all the way round or just tight on the tensioner side. thanks for the help

The tensioner works under oil pressure so would go tighter when engine is running, if its not too slack its sounds ok most have abit of slack one side
