roof rails back to black ?

Hi all ,
the roof rail gutter things on the 5 , were they black or grey ?
Whats best to use to restore them to their former self,
cant seem to find "back to black" on the shelves in Germany.

ive Been thinking boot polish or a kind of oil may do the job ???
