help identifying this steering rack

Ok , purchased a steering rack of ebay for r5 gt.. come to fit it 6 months later and its not for a renault 5.

Ive lined it up next to a r5 gt rack to show the diffrences.

Its the bottom one im trying to identify so that when i come to sell it i can advertise it correctly.

What numbers have you got the rack and will see if I can find out for you.

Google any numbers or series' of numbers on it. Be amazed what you find.

only number i can find are SR192 part number on the white sticker, but cant find anything.

Didn't you have a pug 306 diesel? thought you would have recognised that, also fits the 1.4 306

haha .. so its to fit a 306 1.9 td.. ?? fortunatly i never had to touch the steering racks :cool:

hang on though arnt all 306's power steering?

Yes the td was power steering, just the diesel was both manual or power steering.

ah spot on .. cheers (althought its gona be hard to shift i think).

any idea if it will fit the 205 subframe ?... just thinking there both very similar and both xu based engines.

My system says it only fits the 306 diesel and 1.4 version.

no worries then buddy that will do me. Ill stick it back up for sale and get what i can for it.
