View Full Version : help needed for mot gordini carb running rich
As title failed emissions for Carb running to rich, what should I check before I start messing around with mixture screw? Would dirty air filter etc be a culprit as not enough air would surely have it running rich? Let me know thanks in advance! Oh BTW it's a Weber of that means anything?
take out the air filter, give the car a good rev.....
i'm assuming the test was done at idle - i.e they didnt hold the car at revs. if that is the case, you might be able to adjust the mixture screw to get it leaner at idle. - this wouldnt affect the mixture further up the rev range though.
My brother thinks he messed with the choke adjustment so I will try that first then take out air filter and put it on emissions
if the choke flaps are shut, or partially shut then that will cause rich running.
take the plastic car top off and see if they are open fully.
