I have the option of fitting a safety devices roll cage and a one off kevlar rear strutbrace. This would mean taking rear seats out and stripping it to a certain extent.

Would the car be more valuable or less once these are done?

My spec is almost complete to what I wanted and this would be the only major visual modification.

It has a smoothed tailgate and badboy bonnet which I would like to replace at some point with standard items but not a priority really.

I would look at mk1/2 escorts..

it dosent seem to affect the value so much so long as its done correctly/ not bodged together with multiple holes etc.

It certainly wouldnt affect the value enough to bother me, put it that way.

I don't know about the value but it would put me off buying it if it had a roll cage and no back seats but that's just personal opinion, I like the standard look

Yeah, also keep in mind who is going to buy it. O.e boys are really anal about everything. So might aswell do away with it. Nice new sprayed cage. :)

Just keep hold of the back seats and trim incase u want to take it back out, job done

A car is worth whatever someone wants to pay for it! So, you make the change, and the person buying the car does not like it, the car goes down in value (and vice-a-versa). You keep is o.e. and you really can’t loose... (but not everyone likes plain Jane).

Make or do the mods that make you smile. If they don’t, change them back... Although not very easy when referring to a roll cage!

I want a focus rs though and don't know if I could afford to run the 5 aswell although it only owes me pennies :(
