Want so slam my 5, it's got spax on the front an OEs on the back. What is your view of how to do it and why??

Lower the rear on the torsion bar. There is a how to in the file section. For the fronts you can either go adjustable by using GAZ or lowered springs on your spax shocks.

How low do you want to go? If you go too low it will ruin the ride quality and handle like a dog.

Hi mate, only wanna go as low so it looks slightly better. IMO it is abit highand would look smooth lowered...

Worth mentioning the suspension set up is different on the ph1, different top mounts, and different shocks, can't remember weather or not the hub's are different or not, sure somebody will know for sure.

You can still buy most of the aftermarket suspension to suit the ph1.

If I could change anything on mine it would be a nice set of koni yellows with just a 50mm drop then the torsion bar ajusted to suit.

Torsion bars are an easy job, unless they are corroded solid then it can end up being a complete arse of a job.

Hubs are same on ph1 and ph2. You could just fit lower springs to your current dampers and lower torsion bar to suit, or if your feeling flush buy coilovers and adjustable rear shockers

I thought phase 1 and 2 hubs were different for the bolt pattern on the damper body? Phase 1 being inline and Phase 2 being offset (if that's how you'd describe it?
And the dampers were different too to bolt on properly.

Is it only the top mount that makes the difference here then?

The hubs will be the same but the shock and top mount differs.

So to run phase two on a phase one you just change the shock and top mount and vise versa to run the phase one set up on a phase two.

Josh I guess the cheap way is just change the springs. Red is normally 35mm yellow springs are 50mm.

I run 50mm :)

The ktec/apex -50 springs are pretty low mate, coupled up with koni yellows is quite a nice setup :) id recommend the gaz adjustable rear shockers, shorter than original and seem pretty good on my van, they are for sale occasionally on ebay brand new for less than a ton
