I've recently purchased a turbo that is apparently a Stage 7 GT Tuning HE5 Li, the one with a machined turbine housing.

Does anyone run one of these? I just want to confirm if it is this turbo.
It has an ID plate on it attached to the CHRA with the following numbers...

EF 0172J
14411-69F00
466541-7001

Any help appreciated. :)

I did have that turbo then had it rebuilt by some idiots who gave me back a different turbo :( it was fantastic before then.

No way - that is one expensive turbo for them to exchange. :sad2:

Do you remember if it had a 5- or 6- blade compressor wheel? I also have a HE5c which has the 5 blade wheel but the 'HE5 Li' I have has a 6-blade wheel.

I dont to be honest, up until then i had no need to look at the turbo much(it was fine except a little smokey) He told me he'd had to put a replacement shaft as the journals wer goosed, which i thought they'd replace like for like but it wasnt the same housings and spooled up like a t2 they then went bust :( and it lasted 4 months.

Those GT Tunings turbos were a full T25 i believe, not sure what car the turbo originally come from or if it was a pure hybrid.

The plate you found on there will be the id plate for the core number and not what the turbo is unfortunately, if you can see what a/r sizes the housings are if may give idea on what sort of turbo it is, a pic would give idea too mate

I know gttnutter use to have a GT Tuning turbo on his old Raider but wasn't sure which one it was, know it went well :agree:

As mark mentioned i had one on the raider, HE5 Li. very expensive turbo back in the day. it lasted till i sold the car and believe it to still be in use on the car. pulled really really well.

Not surprising really, more gt tuning sales bs stage 99 turbo with 720 degree thrust bearing. cut back blades for an extra 100hp etc etc
