looking at building a new garage soon and been pricing up blocks,

How much should i be paying for 7n 100mm thick blocks, i need 1000+

best price i have got so far is £1.14 each

also is £35 good for a 850kg bag of building sand?

My Mum just had a double garage built from metal / wood frame and coriigated tin sheets with concrete floor 1/2 the price of brick jobby , might be worth a look.
Just an option.

On the money mate,if you know someone with an account with a builders suppliers,you will be a whole better off,you want to be aming, a pound to buy and a pound to lay,if you not doing it yourself? :agree:

building myself with my old man who is a ex builder, but been out the game for 10 years so has no contacts and out of touch with prices

@ dan y,as im building myself doesnt work out much more to build with block, plus were i live a corriguated roof wouldnt last 1 winter:wasntme:

last time i got some from joesph parr, there's about 70 blocks to a pallet, and pallet price is cheaper. should work out at £1 a block or just under. think i got the sand for about £35 per tonne too.
merchants will price match/better each other too so worth calling a few.
1000 blocks, decent size garage that.


depends how many more you need but these are about 80p each

I will use that price and try and lean on local merchants a bit, see if i can get them to below £1 a block,

yea, got a bit of land with mi new house so its gonna be a monster garage! 9m long and 6m wide:smokin:

We built a triple garage for my brother last yr and went looking for building sites and asked to buy the left overs, can get some great deals!!!:D
