just a quicky lol, just needed to know what the standard degree was on the standard c1j 788 cam was? am i rite in thinking its 110 degrees, if so i had the bb cam which is 113 degrees set on old engine dot to dot which makes it either 3 degrees advanced or retarded, it ran sweet as and went like stink apart from crank oil leaks:cry: but as we are building this new engine totally i want to double check, i know what ya all going to say get a vernier to get it spot on but is it really worth it for only 3 degrees!!!! thanx mick

Did you measure it being 113deg or was that what BB Tuning said it needed to be set at?
Depending on who ground the cam it might not be ground to exactly that amount of deg's so using it with a standard pulley won't set the cam to 113deg.
You do need to check it, you'll be amazed at how much difference even 1deg of timing would make

Ah ok mark the 113 is on RTOC cam wizard and also the paperwork that came with cam, it's a new cam not reprofiled mate I've checked. It ran well dot to dot before it only pinked when it run lean which caused the det before, the cam on dot to dot wouldn't of caused det would it!!!!

Whats stamped on the end of the cam? Just wondering what cam it is exactly.

No if you timed the cam up with the original pulley that wouldn't cause the det, the skimmed head (high compression) and running lean would have caused that
