as above what is the settings and sequence please for the c1j, any pics or diagram as ive lost my haynes manual and i cant be bothered to go and buy another:niceone:

I always did mine 20/20 matey and it's rule of 9 matey

Guys, don't we have an online Haynes manual? (I'm being really lazy and have not had a look.)

If not, I can always scan mine in and post it up somewhere :scratch:

go opposites, so no8 valve spring compressed and adjust 1, 7-2, 6-3, 5-4 etc

I don't think that's an "on-line Haynes" but someone has scanned and posted illegally, ie, Haynes could sue them.

Use the rule of nine. If number one is open adjust number eight and so on

Haynes could sue them.I'm not being a spoil sport, I had some vague memory pop into my head that Haynes were strict on that kind of thing and they, or the publisher, had taken action in the past.

What cam??i have a piper cam in it, the links dont work above:scared:, may have been deleted i guess, if someone could pm me maybe a diagram from the haynes;), and thanks for the other replys:)

If its a piper 285 go .20/.20 matey, for a 270 probably .15in/.20 ex as per standard

i always set tappets up what i know as rocking so get 1 and 2 fully down rocking then adjust 7 and 8 to the setting needed, so adjusting 2 rockers a time its a little quicker;)

i fitted a 270 and went 20/20 and there abit to noisey still, il re adjust and see how they are

The piper 270 is something like 25 inlet 30 exhaust. I set mine to 15 and 20 originally but then read the spec and adjusted them. I know they were random values that you set them too.
