Hey guys, I'm on the hunt for a new turbo and so far the cheapest I've found it is from Storm Developments, has anyone had experience with these guys?

This is their website

There is that but the turbo I'm after is 1 of the three they have in stock and it's 100quid cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it

A at work friend took his supercharged R32 too them for some work. think they mainly deal in the dub world.

may sound silly but have you not tried Adam L at TD or even Glenn as I think I read that he can get good deals.

I've heard of Storm Developments, albeit through one of the courier drivers that comes into our place quite often, they mainly deal with vw turbo and supercharge conversions.

Everyone is blocked from pm'ing me. I don't have time to deal with hybrids anymore, I'm afraid.

Oh, thought it was just me you didn't want to talk too lol

Am not after a custom job. It's a GT3071R-WG that's the one with the 56.5mm turbine, T25 rear housing .86 90 trim

I believe the garrett no. is 700382-5020S

No, it's not just you, mate:D. I'm far from competetive on rollerbearings, purely because there's no market for it.

There's a good reason why though, Oli, we're leading the Europeon market in electronic actuators now. You've got to stay ahead to stay in the game:p

Why not?

Would I be right in saying you could program a certain boost level into these electronic jobs at which it'll open the wastegate so you could do away with a boost controller altogether?

I think there more for vnt, rather than the crude usual methods. I wouldnt of thought it'd be necessary for a simple open shut wastegate.

No, they're controlled via a few things, throttle position, boost pressure switch and ecu. They're a constant problem for fault finding because everything has something electronic attached to it now, so trying to find a mechanical fault is more difficult. We have designed a tester to control the functions of them for nearly all the Garrett range, KKK and Mitsubishi. They're a complicated setup and not something I'd recommend for a tuned car at this moment in time, as i don't think there's an aftermarket ecu available. For the future, yes!

You can't beat the old style actuator though.

Ive only ever seen issues with older mondeo actuators but ive never been able to get an actuator on its own, had to replace the whole turbo? are you able to source them seperately? and or repair them?

We fully overhaul the actuator but in most cases supply an exchange box (we are literally the only company in Europe that do this on a relaiable scale). The Mondeo was the largest culprit for failures. the software changes through production so we have to adapt ours to work with it.

I've had one of their rolling bearing turbo's on mine for about 6yrs and its still going strong after many trackday's and Pod visits!
