Pretty sure they are for the tacho.

Have a look in the files section, then go to technical, then wire diagrams. There is almost everything R5 in there (GTT and other models) so have a look and see if you can get the info you're after from there.

One of the wires on the blocks at the top runs the tacho, i wired mine up myself and didnt fit the 2 pin connector.

I cant remember which wire does what though as it was 4 years ago when i done the conversion :ashamed:

Brigsy is indeed right. See the diagrams below:

http://www.rtoc.org/files/Technical%20Files/Wiring%20diagrams/Instrument%20Panel%20Connectors.jpg

MA = mauve (pink)

Pin 8 on the 13 Pin Connector is the one you want (tach input)
Pin 9 on the 9 Pin Connector is the Instrument Panel general earth for everything in the Panel.

Hope that gets you sorted. ;)

should that only one brown wire come to those connections in the cluster back?

maybe someone could give me any clues what could be wrong with my tacho. i have connected adaptronic ecu to the rev counter wire in the ignitor control module and adaptronic shows me revs good. also i have connected directly rev counting wire to the cluster 8 pin, as showed before in the picture. and tacho do not shows revolutions, when switching beams, or acc power tacho pointer instantly moves a little, but do not shows anything more. maybe anyone could comment regarding this matters? could be any fault inside tachometer? i gues if it moves a little it shows that some kind of contact there is?

maybe it might be not working if i have disconnected distributor cap with rotor from the ignition module?
