finally got the pinking sorted(timing sensor)and the fueling(still a tiny bit rich at top end)got the car on the rolling road and got a decent result....159bhp with 171 lf ft with 16psi manifold pressure, martin the tester said there was more in it! but i did'nt have a bleed valve to increase it.pleased enough at result...standard origional engine ect!:)

i think its a 209? i know i changed it because of some other problem and it was the same model!....but even before i did it was still pinking slightly....if u come accross a pump here saying 95ron u'll be lucky...i last filled it with 91ron,the tester also agreed that the quality of petrol had plumitedover here!

Which carb have you used?? Does it have boost enrichment?

All 95ron petrol in Ireland has 5% bio-ethanol in it now which can cause cars to run lean. It's pure water over here my car pinks at anything over 12psi or there abouts with a t25!!

Really need to sort out an afr meter for myself.

martin there is very good, dave, good dyno ect....i would recommend u sort any pinking probs before u go on a rolling road!! i might be there again soon with other carbs.....the 2e3 of an astra is what i used but i also have a smaller one from a polo 24/28throttles. and i have one off a t4vw...which has 24/26 venturis!!depends on time really:)
brigsy! it has a power valve where i grafted a dis enricher to it!
