Ecu Selection For Efi.

Just been doing a bit of research as I want to get EFI on my 5 when I get back from my holiday to America. I have seen that some people use aftermarket ECU's and others (found by google) have used ECU's from other cars e.g. Sierra's etc. What have people on here used and what are recommendations?

Pretty much everyone on here uses some sort of standalone ecu, to be honest best way to go wouldn't bother trying to use an ecu off another car
