Good stuff mate
I'm keeping my pork pies open for any more info (including an entry list ;)). It looks like it's set to be a big one - I've heard that some ex-works stuff could be coming over from Europe!

good find mart :) top man
Hopefully they'll list the weekend plan soon, so that those of us who aren't local to the area can start booking B&B rooms...or sniffing out a nearby campsite(s).
Would be great to get an rtoc clan together for this event, trekking around the stages mob-handed, enjoying some beers & laughs of the evening :agree:
Well up for this :)

What, in the 80's? :D
This should be one hell of an event: Beer + mates + Group B rally cars = Puurrrfick :smokin:
I wonder if me Daddy's old 6R4 will be there. I have heard that it's currently being restored, again, even though it's never used :scared:
I might be up for this like!
Anyone heard/seen any more info about this?
BluntyR5GTT
19-04-2012, 05:52
not yet mart but iv joined up to a few group b things over on facebook so am sure ill be able pick up on something
How strange the membership chap on that website lives 5 mins round the corner should I knock on his door lol :)
You might get more information that way Matt, as there's a severe lack of it anywhere on the interweb :crap:
I'm 100% up for this, and looking to book local B&B rooms now (before everyone else does!), so some kinda confirmation of which stages are gonna be run on which day would be helpful for starters
A fortnight on, and still no information to be found :sad2:
Should I knock on his Door this weekend then ??
BluntyR5GTT

I've just read the following on a forum, posted by someone who is very active in the Metro 6R4 world, on 20th May:
"The route for this event will be announced shortly, looks like 12 stages being run and starts/finishes at the Michelin factory in Stoke (Michelin are sponsoring the event).
Entries are being received from across Europe with hopefully a few " Special" guest drivers being signed up for the event....expect fireworks http://www.xpower-racing.com/forum/images/smilies/extra/yup.gif"
He also posted to say that 64 cars have entered so far. That was on the 28th March.
At last - It looks like some info might be released, for what was beginning to look like a secret event!

heres a reply i got earlier from one of the main organisers
YES - Its well down the road . All the senior positions are in place . What are referred to as the Tracings and the Highways Act Authorisation have been lodged. The Supplementary Regs are complete ( no easy task given the nature of the event) and will be lodged with the MSA in a few days time. Were available all the Stages have been designed and surveyed numerous times. There are 5 Venues with 28 Stages ! Recovery - Resue - Marshall - Medical - Radio - Timing etc Crews are on standby.
Despite all the work we are still a long way off. One of the big tasks coming up is Public Relations so Andy Blunt be prepared to help out in the vacinity of Rally HQ and the Scrutineering venue in and around Campbell Road and the A34 in the area of the Hanford Roundabout. The Cof C will set this in motion in the next few weeks. Members of this page who live in the North Staffs Cheshire North Shropshire Area and wish to help with PR please send me a message giving a contact mobile no.

heres another post i fount by one of the organisers posted a month or so ago
UPDATE
The Rally Organisation is progressing well and the Team are now at the point of enrolling the various officials. We have spoken to a couple of International Clerks of the Course and both are keen to be involved. So this very important position should be filled within the next couple of weeks.
In addition, contact and initial discussions have been made with the various Safety Services, namely: Rescue, Doctors, Medics, Recoveries and Radio Crews. The MSA Route Liaison Officer has been appointed by ourselves together with the Club Steward. The MSA have appointed their Steward.
Enthusiasm is being shown by Marshalls interested in providing the Rally with this essential service.
Fortnightly contact is made with the MSA to ensure that any problem arising can be dealt with quickly. Notable - we have their support.
Initial enquiries showed that 60 plus of our members temporarily reserved places and as the Event criteria is now opened up to non-members we expect that our total targets for entries to be achieved.
Enquiries are being received from France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Quatar and Canada. It is therefore likely that our Rally will be entered on the National Listing with overseas competing teams.
All the venues are now in place, one or two subject to final proposals. The Rally will be centred on the new Michelin UK Headquarters Building with our HQ, Parc Ferme, Scrutineering and Administration dealt with on site. The area may also accommodate Service.
There are six special stage venues mainly running multiple times so you can expect upto100 stage miles with in excess of 150 liaison miles.
A lot of waffle, but still no actual details about the event stages, public access, starting times, etc.
I hope I'm wrong, but I've got a feeling this event isn't going to happen.

On the plus side: If it does happen, not many people are going to know about it, so crowd levels should be down a bit :D
If..... :scared:
I'll translate ;)
