I'm always blind to this sorta stuff happening until I go to get petrol. Think I'll be riding a bit more now too!

Have a look on ebay at Carrera bikes mate, they're well made and go cheap second hand :)

Get a road bike dude. If you ride it well and fit they are quicker than a car across town. They are also pretty good fun!

I have beaten a car from London Bridge to ORPINGTON on my road bike on a Saturday afternoon!

It's clearly not to do with the hike of fuel but the pay the receive. If anything it should be turned into a national boycott for fuel prices.

Check out pinkbike.com, in the buy/sell section filter to europe/UK and loads of bikes/gear on there. May get a better deal being an enthusiast site so no ebay inflation.

Well definately dont want Labour put back in there as we are stuck in this position because of their stupidity :sad2:

Its crazy how the governments always spend money in the least sensible way and thinking selling off to other companies will be worthwhile doing. Like the hospitals, how can we pay somebody else the same amount of money we are putting into the hospitals, that company then runs the hospitals supposedly better than the original people can and also make a profit else they wouldn't be running it, how does that make sense

We need to get this country into shape by not punishing the people who work, and pay their taxes, its the other side who dont and sponge of the country, dont cut down schools, hospitals, road development and loads of other things and stop paying out money to people who dont want to help themselves. And why give money to these arts and crafts and things like that, how many people go see them, im guessing not that many else they wont be strugglying to keep a float with money, if they cant make money now giving them more will just postpone whats going to happen to them anyway, close.

I think it was so irresponsible for the prev government to bid for the olympics when they knew their budget could not accommodate it...priorities all wrong.

£billions could have gone into reducing our countrys debt, taking the 'claimed' needs for such extortionate taxes.

Trevhib
29-03-2012, 17:34
The cost of the Olympics is a drop in the ocean in comparison to the gigantic national debt pile.

Also, the Olympics will most likely be profitable for the UK economy and that's in addition to the other benefits it brings in terms of improved infrastructure and legacy of those stadia that will remain after the show is over.

If I can't get petrol over the wekend I'll be on my bike next week, I refuse to wait an hour+ in a queue to be arse burgled! The only thing I'm bothered about is we have to ferry my son to nursery and obviously I can't do that on a bike. Thanks to all the selfish f*ckwits filling all their jerry cans in the petrol stations! :sad2:

It'll be fun IF there's a fuel strike. I can't cycle at the mo, due to my foot being shot to bits, and the Evo can hold 170 miles worth of fuel - Enough to get to work and back, for a few days

Bigfoot
29-03-2012, 17:54
I dont worry about how many miles I get to the tank in petrol, I work on how many months I can get in between filling up with petrol :) so I know its not good but I dont really notice any increase in charges really as I can never remember how much it cost me to fill up last time.

I've just arrived at the petrol station to fill up my car, only to discover that they are limiting purchases of fuel to £20 to prevent panic buying.....

God knows how they expect me to get back home

Dawn watched some **** put £7 in his car earlier, clearly just to top the tank up. What a ****ing bellend. Usually this sort of thing doesn't affect me as I've had 3 cars to choose from but I only run on optimax with one car now and most people don't want to pay the nigh on £1.50 a litre it costs around here, so I'm still safe I guess:scared:

It's just annoying for people who actually needed petrol yesterday (like me lol). Luckily I was behind said numpty filling up with less than £8 so I didn't have to wait too long

Another reason Adam isn't too bothered about running low on Optimax is because he thinks muggins here is going to drive him round should he run out...On yer bike son :wasntme:

Last time I looked at the cooking oil thing it seemed as though you still needed to faff around to make it work without killing certain bits of your car.

Does your Scenic tolerate the use of cooking oil then Mark? All the time or just on the occasion? Have you had to do anything to it?

you can use it neat, straight from the supermarket on both pug/cit 1.9TD engines and renault DT and DTi. as long as they have the bosch pump.
not hdi or dci!!!!
i generally try to keep it 50/50 mix, wth diesel. i have run 100% on warm weeks, but starting can be an issue at around 5deg C or lower. i sometimes run abit of acetone 1ml per litre to aid starting and running. ive caused a pump to start leaking before, but that was due to extended use of 100% veg, or i might have over done it with the acetone. - either way i changed the pump with a scrapper, and its worked ok since. (i never had any probs on the citroen 1.9td i used to run)

my 1.9 xud peugeot td engine did 30k on 100% neat veg, it never struggled to start but it did have a lumpy idle when cold.

Bosch pump is a must on them engines though, lucas is weak as piss.
