turbo rebuild costs

Why does it cost so much to have a turbo rebuilt (£200-£300) when the actual parts are relatively cheap £50-£100?

good question and one im not best qualified to answer but you have machining and balancing etc to take into account.

I imagine it's more due to the skill required for the people to do this, the ability to source the parts etc. The equipment costs a fortune too, you can't balance a turbo with a set of scales lol
