As some of you know i bought myself an Extra van last year to use it as a work horse and to tow the 5's, well since then its alittle different and underwent an engine transplant recently

Here's how it looked when i bought it

Well after about a year of using it the old diesel engine was getting alittl tired so desided to use one of thr spare B18FT engines i had lying around in it

So the transplant began

For the rest of the van i done a few changes, fitted GT Turbo suspension with Apex 50mm springs, GT Turbo brakes, some Corbeau seats for inside, new 15" TSW wheels and the odd touches here and there to keep the old girl going

I will keep this one updated if anything else gets done to it but it gets used alot so finding time to do anything will be fun! ;)

Well looks like another turbo has died on the van :sad2:

When i fitted the engine originally the first one seemed dead anyway as smoke straight away so swapped it for a working but old turbo (not used for years), well this ones now puffing a fair bit on idle.
I will be checking oil pressure but putting it down to old age of the unit, not major issue as i have another spare but i'm looking into having a T2/T25 built for it ;)

At same time i'm going to make use of some Volvo 740 green injectors with the resistor pack when the turbos built, see how that peforms! :D
Only prob is not sure how to wire the resistor pack up, may have to do abit of research into that

Well the vans been going well recently, done about 2000miles on the engine and not missed a beat yet only had to change turbo due to old one being sat around too long.
I had to do a wheel bearing recently, it collapsed on the way home from Cambridge once home found the wheel had loosened too:eek:
All sorted now and wheels ok too thankfully

Recently i've fitted some GT rear shocks and increase the size of the brakes, gone for some caliper extenders and Renault 21 discs. As its pulling little more weight and will be towing the red 5 i though some bigger brakes would help out

The calipers sit little close to wheels :D

When the wheel weight passes the caliper there's about 1mm gap!

Thought i'd update this thread, the vans been doing strong still with no faults at all :D

Since the last update i've fitted a new boost gauge, temp gauge and upped boost to 11psi now which makes it feel little more liverly!

The major change to the van its at the end of the month it will have a new owner, yep i've just done a deal so its sold! :ashamed:
I won't be replacing it with anything special, just a boring Renault Kangoo van (poss 03 plate) but it'll do me for what i want.

I'll stick some pics up of its state now but National Day will be the last weekend i get to use here so she'll be looking her best for her new owner
