gearbox`s for the c1j any advice?

im after sorting a new box for my five. as the engine is out and has been re built etc was thinking about upgradeing the box. whats the best to go for that will have the pickup for the speedo? cheers:)

Whats wrong with the original box mate?

The GT box will hold up well with the power most cars put out, other then the GT box the Volvo 480 turbo one use's electronic speedo too

well its ok but has a small whineing coming from it in third so was thinking do i get it rebuilt so its fresh in my five or upgrade etc :) cheers for the info:agree:

I would say rebuild mate, i've had a few done for people and myself and they feel so much better.
Downside with buying used is you never know how long they will last or the condition of the bearings and gears inside, plus most have done a far few miles even Clio boxs are getting old

I can sort them out mate, i have a local engineer that does a briliant job. Turbo Ted's box was done by him and its held up quite well

Price wise there about £200-£250 depending on whats needed, prices variers alittle depending on what he finds but none have ever been very expensive always keep people posted on whats found
