:) ANNOUNCEMENT :)

I am pleased to reveal the details of 2012 Renault Turbo UK Festival. 2012 celebrates both the 10th RTOC National Day and 40 Years of the Renault 5 so we are pushing for this to be the best event the RTOC has put on yet!! :niceone:

As previously mentioned the event is going to be at Blyton Park (http://www.blytonpark.co.uk/) on Saturday 28th July 2012. You can learn more about the facilities at Blyton by clicking here to read their BROCHURE (http://www.blytonpark.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/blyton-park-brochure.pdf).

No offence but i've watched m-tec dyno cars before at events and there is no way in hell i'd let them near a my car!
After watching them dyno various cars... without using their little leaf blower fan... they then run a big power supra... yup no fan at which point after watching them do 3 pulls on a 400+ supra i just laughed at the cowboy outfit and walked away!

Obviously they may of got better and up'd their game since but i'd still be warey of how they run the cars.

Interesting track Blyton. Make sure your brakes are tip top boys and girls. They take a pounding as not much straight line to cool em' down. Mallory is easy on the brakes in comparison.

Should be fun.

Hi Brigsonator!

I've been in touch with Blyton Park today and they have confirmed that we will have a 95db limit AT 20 Metres.

Richard Usher reckon's that a 95db limit when stood next to the car equates to about 100 - 105db.

I'd recommend you bring a coke can just in-case mate ;)

Does that mean they're running a drive-by type noise threshold trackday then?

Most of the trackdays I've seen advertised for Blyton have a 105dB static limit, which, as you say, is probably on par with 95dB @ 20 metre range, so same meat different gravy in the grand scheme of things :)

Hi, dont know if i have missed this bit but does anybody know how much extra drivers are?? cheers Lee

clee
09-07-2012, 10:28
All drivers must buy full price ticket .
Not posting out would only work if we have someone there from the CMs to sort it out on the gate .

Duncan Grier
09-07-2012, 10:47
I had this issue for my track car - it is 50% share and to reduce costs of track days we split the cost of events but the way the RTOC ND is structured we would have to both buy a full price ticket which does not make it that much of a bargain.

Where of course a single ticket for the track day is a bargain

As it stands this year I will not be in a position to bring the track beast and only if the VX220 / VAG conversion is completed would I be bringing my own stuff

However may be bringing a members car along to abuse :agree::agree::agree:

DG

clee
09-07-2012, 11:19
It still works out a bargain even if you have to buy two tickets .very few trackdays out there for 140 ....which includes second driver ;)
Please can anyone buying more than one tracktime ticket supply names of all drivers these are for .
We need to check against membership and also for insurance and drivers briefing purposes .
Non members must pay the higher price ,if not they will be asked on the day for the balance or their ticket will become void  innit :agree:

Duncan Grier
09-07-2012, 11:30
Agree it is still cheaper than a lot of the more premium track days :agree: usually get a cheeky discount so prob a bit cheaper than most joe public prices

And of course this one is full of other lunatic's :D but friendly ones :scared:

Should be a good day and sure the regulars will like the change of track, prob new to a lot of us also

Great work guys

clee
09-07-2012, 22:10
Easy now .......I thought we were discussing this privately but ....allow me to retort :coffee:

No ,it's not being anal ,it's about supporting the club and trusting members not to take advantage .
The price ,even for non members ,is far less than you will pay anywhere else for 7 hrs open pit at any venue .
Non members pay a surcharge ,the first years membership fee so even then they are given the option to join this great club and reap it's many rewards for at least a full year ..

As pm'd
I will cancel and refund your order for 3 member tickets :coffee:

2 cars 3 drivers, 1 member, no option for extra drivers this time £210, not that cheap but I do understand the club needs to fund the day and fully appreciate that.
As I also said I will ask the other 2 drivers if they can afford to pay the extra £25 each before refund, unless you are telling me this is not allowed anymore??
I won't put any smiley faces or people drinking cups of tea as this is a tad obnoxious.

No offence, cheers lee

clee
09-07-2012, 22:49
If they can't afford the extra 25 then they shouldn't be even thinking about trackdays .
That is not the point .The point is that you know the score regards ticket pricing and knew when the order was placed .
I have cancelled your order and refunded in full .

Hi Lee,

I agree that £210 isn't a cheap day out for one person, but divided by 3 that works out £70 per person if you split your discount between your mates to share the burden?

If you check out Javelin's website (http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php) you can't get a full open pitlane trackday for £70 that includes:

A free disco in the evening
Show & Shine Competition with Prizes
Rolling Road
Free Gift

We're not asking the earth & the RTOC isn't a profit making organisation. We are a car club putting on a subsidised event for it's members. I know that money is tight for some people at the moment what with the global downturn etc.

Steve.

D4WNO
09-07-2012, 22:56
We are also a non-profit club, every penny "profit" goes back directly into the club for the members benefit :agree:

We never did an "additional drivers" option did we, not for the years I've been working for the club anyway so not sure what you mean by it isn't an option this time.

To answer your question, of course you can buy tickets at the non-members price again if you wish to online, or just purchase them on the day :)

leesaunders1981
09-07-2012, 23:06
Steve I completely agree and do not mean to cause any offence, the price is cheap compared to any other track day, just a bit higher than the usual excellent rtoc national day prices, it was a genuine mistake and I did clarify the situation straight the way. I understand the club needs to pay for the day, I have been for the last 3 years and enjoyed very much.
I do try to support the club and always ask friends to come along to help bring in more revenue for the club, especially if is made aware the more people the better. I would very much like to still come if my friends agree to pay the extra, it's their money not mine, so the comment " they should nt think about coming if they can't afford £25" is a little out of order.

Good morning one and all,

I hope those of you who are attending ND 2012 have made it there safe and sound.

Spoke to Marky Mark briefly last night and was pleased to hear there had been no dramas. I wish I could have been there with you guys but we are on our annual summer holiday.

Have lots of fun on the track and even more off the track...... :D I hope all your hard work on your cars has paid off. I would like to thank you all for your support throughout the year.

The reason Barbara and I are not able to attend this year is that we were invited to help out with the sea trials on Barbara's brothers yacht, in between my brother getting married, as we would not have normally missed this event as we have always had a great time attending in years past.

For anyone interested, or for those of you who are seafarers, please have a look at the following website - I am sure I can arrange an RTOC discount:

www.deepblueyachting.co.uk

This is Barbara's brother's yacht which he has spent the last 12 years restoring. It is available for charter around the Ionian Islands.

Have a great weekend, will be there in mind and spirit if not body!

We return on the 14th August and it will be business as usual.

Many thanks

Well I had a great day today met some great people and saw some crazy track action didn't brave the track today as my so called newish turbo is knackerd again!! Anyway got new ideas for the 5 newer turbo good track suspension (suggestions on a card pleas) had a go on the roll n road and got 154bhp at 16psi I'm happy with that to say we did it in our own garages :-) saw some great motors and learnt alot about this club today.. Worst bit decided to give it some on the way home past rufford park and went round a bend full boost and guess who was there?? Mr pc and his t5 crew... I carried on up the road and less than a minute later mr pc was up my tail pipe pulled me over and gave me a real toasting!! Thankfully "he had better things to do than piss about with me" and his last words was "but it's a nice car though" any way back home safe and inspired for the future.. Thanks to all the rtoc committee for organising blyton..

Really dont want coilovers as its my everyday any suggestions.. Very impressed with all the 5s on track and very impressed with the frenchies coming all the way over here..

im still buzzing from the weekend . to say it was the best nat day ive been to would be an understatment . the only down side was the cost of getting there but thats not the rtoc's fault
absolutly loved the track . you could drive it as a novice and have some fun , but it was difficult to get it right for a realy fast lap. showed up some tunning isues ive neaver seen before with my car and i had pleanty of time to eather sort them out or thnk about what i need to do next for the camparse. i def got the handling sorted. dam thing is like a go kart now. handling is so good i was getting fuel probs with anything less than half a tank (im now working on a fuel cell to solve this). as for the smoking i was putting out, a new breather sys is being worked on to solve this.
