any closer to a date.. i wana start buying tickets for some shows :D
Same for me and I need to start booking days off before all the people with family's do.
We have sorted a date .
Sunday 02/09/2012
This year we have decided to see how it goes tagging on to one of the Peak Performance days .Booking Pod at the weekend is impossible but this way it will give those not able to attend during the week a chance to pop along if only to spectate :agree:.
http://www.rwyb.co.uk/performance.php
Still the same unlimited running time as limited to 100 cars on the day .
We have purchased 40 tickets at a reduced price so space will be limited ( this was based on runners over the past few years )
It also means there will be a lot of 'other ' cars on show to keep us all entertained ;)

Makes sence, hopefully it still turns out ot be a top day... one for the diary.. :agree:
Track prep should be good on one of those days from what i hear? :)
Yep that is another plus .It will be a tiptop track :burnrubber:

Prices?
Slightly cheaper than POD advance price of £60 ( entry £10 + sign on £50 )
Bugger I'm away for this. :'( it'll be the first one I've missed.
Good luck to all that run and hope everyone has a good night at the tidy tent.

Thats a good idea, whoever came up with that, well done :)
Previous years track conditions have been very average because we usually (or never ?) pay for the additional track preperation. At a peak performance day the track will be 10 times what we have been used to before. The lot will be glued, not just the 60' or 330', whatever they normally do.
There also won't be that many other cars if normal test/tune days are anything to go by. There won't be much of a queue and they will be serious racers, not idiots with treads pulling water and other crap up the track. Should be a good day.

When can we expect tickets to go on sale? After National day?
Me and my bro will both be attending, I have even managed to persuade the mrs to come along.
Like DJ said, will there be camping available on the Saturday night?

I think there will be camping that weekend santa pod also has vw action going on as well the gates open on Friday at 10 am. The last few years that I have been going it has been very full but good fun this years Theme party is Happy Days on saturday night.:)
When can we expect tickets to go on sale? After National day?
Hiya, no you won't have to wait that long, they'll go on sale within the next few weeks :)
Ill be up for a September day. Might even fit the nitrous again.

question . . . . will there be a way of doing a small stand or summing ? so that all the fives are together ? keeps em out the field too:agree:
We definitely won't be out in the field, this is more of a testing day for the others that will be there, it'll be a quiet day compared to what we are used to on a regular RWYB day for example :)

sounds mint :agree: but im not sure my five will be setup and ready to run down the quarter so was hopeing to come along to the event with it and still be involved with everyone else . thats why i saked about a stand? or a group parking area ? be nice to see a group of fives together:)
FYI - Pod tickets will be on sale at Blyton park :D
Also in the club shop I'm presuming, as I won't be attending blyton.
Yup, I'll be listing them this weekend in the shop
no national day is over, this is the next event im looking forward to, ill also be bringing the r5 to this one to get a few runs down, out of interest will there be an option for limited runs to anything, rather than the full day spec.
No, it's just the full day option unfortunately but for £60 that's awesome. It's not the usual RWYB day, the place will be heaving with ridiculously powered tuning company cars and the track will be fully race prepped, which we've never had before :D
Tickets for 1/4 milers are for sale in the club shop right now guys :D
Any spectators can just pay their entrance on the gate

I just bought mine and it said 40 units available, I'd say 39 now :D
Sound, thanks guys. See you all in the strip.
Im buying my ticket on payday. The next couple of weeks will be spent tuning the van in preperation ;)
Any plans for a new pb Brigsy??
Hi, i have a friend (who used to be a member on here actually), is there a non member price for this event..
I need to put half of my interior back in after the huge amount of welding that I have just had done, then mot and tax it, then see how my new front mount performs up at 24lb boost, would like to try and push a few more psi through it but not sure if i will have the time before pod. Might be a case of trying it on the day:scared:
I'm actually looking more forward to driving it down as it's been almost 9 months since i drove it properly on the road, slightly concerned about breaking it at pod tho, i had the luxury of a recovery truck last year.......and in the end it was a good job i did as the oil feed adaptor on the turbo snapped whilst i was putting some heat in the tyres.
I will buy my ticket once mr MOT man gives me the thumbs up for another 12 months.
take some rope and im sure we can find somebody to tow you to tesco should the worst happen
Shame I have had my drivers floorpan welded up, I could of "Fred flinstoned" it to tescos!

As I am planning on going down on the Saturday and camping out, I have been looking at the vw event that's on that weekend.
Looks to be a large event and if you want to camp it says you need to buy a weekend ticket @£32 advanced price plus booking fee! you can buy a day ticket for £15 but you will only be allowed to park in the day visitors car park.
don't really fancy paying £32 just to camp out in preperation for the test and tune day the day after, I won't be arriving untill circa 4pm anyway.
I don't expect to camp out for free, so was wondering if anything can be sorted for rtoc to get in on Saturday with just a camping ticket? It may be a long shot I know and looking at the threads so far not that many people want to camp anyway.

+1..
Not possible I'm afraid .The VW thing will be ticketed as they see fit and in no way related .
We have just bought a large number of tickets for the Sunday to reserve places :)
:disagree: Thought it was a long shot, not even sure if it's £32 per person or per car, either way bit on the extortionate side seen as we are coming down in three cars, and only camping for the day after! Looks like it will be an early start on the Sunday and no camping.
Either that or just pitch up in one of the feilds close by:laugh:

I would of thought that if you show up late sat night, say 10pm they'll only charge you for camping? Best give them a ring i'd say.
10Pm is a bit late! Can't have the best of both worlds I suppose, my bro has just rang Santa Pod and they said we need to speak to the people who ticket the vw show as the ticketing is down to them.
Another option is maybe a different campsite not to far away from pod, I will have a look for something today when I get 5 Mins.
Or could just purchase a full weekend ticket and go on the friday and make full use of all the entertainment.
Childcare for me tho is an issue, we were lucky enough to get the Saturday/Sunday in the first place! Can't imagine the grampys being that impressed with another day/night of childcare:laugh:

I'm planning on going and running, as is my bro, both our better halfs should also be in attendance, although my mrs was having a bit of a moan about driving all that way in my other car, i thought it would be a good idea to have a "support vehicle:laugh:"
basically somewhere i can Wang all the heavy gear like tents ECT so the five can stay nice and light for the journey down.;)
I have amazingly run into an issue with my car also, a carb related problem, I'm hoping with the aid of a rebuild kit i can build one good carb out of all my spares, fingers crossed it fuels the same as the one that's gone tits up as i had it bang on:cry:

regards camping, would they not allow you camp in the field opposite the main entrance? tis the normal place to camp if your turned up thursday for an event that opened on fri 9am? dont usually charge as its not within the grounds and due to low numbers i cant see it being a problem, dont even think its monitered? you would miss out on the vw fun but least you'd be there first thing. gotta be worth a call since there's been a good few tickets bought by the club?

I'll be coming up sunday morning now, bit of a shame the camping is so expensive but if thats what Pod are saying don't know if we can do much about it
Right guys .
I've just spoken to the VW Action guys and struck deal .You need a ticket to get in to the event Saturday evening as it is marshaled by the VW people not Pod .
We can camp up next to the strip somewhere and the cost will be 7.50 per person .This will get you into the event itself so you can go and see all the stuff they have laid on as well ,Boooze ,birds and boogie
I need a rough idea of numbers please asap .The club will then buy X amount of tickets to be posted to those wanting to camp Sat night .
Paypal to
shop@rtoc.org
Please include full details ,Name ,address ,forum name and number of tickets required .Remember price is per person .
I want to get this paid for Monday 20th so as to give time for them to post to me and me to you so please can we have a speedy response ;)
Does that mean camping is now £22.50?
Top darts Clee!!:agree::agree:
I will be needing two tickets, one for me and my good lady, cheers;)
I would like 3mate please.
Does that mean camping is now £22.50?
Is it including the £15 entry, or am I getting confused :(
Ahh I see ...yes .....Just double checked .
Right ,the price per person will be 15 for entry and camping Saturday night .The guy running the VW event has hired it for the whole weekend so effectively you get free camping ;)
How many that are running are wanting to camp Saturday ? We have only sold 4 tickets so far though :coffee:
You will need a VW event ticket to get in as well as the test and tune tickets if you are planning on camping Saturday night .
This is getting complicated .........It's because the VW guys have POD for the whole weekend ....
Test and tune runners arriving Saturday will need a VW action ticket to get in .

ok lee well ill want a camping ticket for me n her indoors.
I'm presuming that most people will be buying on the day, if that's available. A lot of people may be waiting untill a little closer to the event so they can get a better idea of the weather.
Not available on the day .I repeat .Not available on the day .
Only tickets to spectate will be on the gate and nothing to do with RTOC .The VW event and/or POD are in charge of ticketing on the day .
All tickets to run must be purchased in advance from the club shop !!! Also the camping tickets must be paid for in advance . Again these are not available on the Saturday night .
Do we need to purchase the camping tickets now or once the club has purchased some?
BluntyR5GTT

guys if you want to camp for this then you need to shout up today so clee can order the correct amount of tickets from the vw guys, the tickets will get you in for both days. clee is ordering the tickets tomorrow so let him know asap if you want some.
I will purchase on Monday for all that have requested then let you know by pm and here when I have them .Paypal with details to this address once I let you know .Or you can do it now if you want .15 pound per person for entry and camping Saturday night .

Why has there been hardly no organisation for this? I'm abit gutted to be honest. Top effort lee For pulling out all stops in last week or so.
In what way ?
The club bought the tickets ages ago to hold 40 places for members and they have been on sale for members to buy

I'm up for a jolly anywhere but there was no one pushing the thread and no one seeming to buy tickets so I doubt I'm going now.
Why promote it on Facebook when the members are on here
I think the overall idea is a good one, and I should imagine for those that do camp on the Saturday it will be a good crack given all the entertainment laid on by the vw guys.
I personally thought the tickets went on sale a little to late, and the camping issue should have been raised sooner.
But then again, if like me you were always planning on attending this event, I like most people won't finalize things untill the last few weeks anyway.
I hope this doesn't spell the end of the rtoc pod day, as it's always been for me an enjoyable event.
like most people already realise, the attention of most people in the club now is not about how quick it goes, it's about how "factory" it looks.

Not me bud mines for driving.. Quicker the better for me:)
I can't see how putting the tickets up earlier would have helped .It's always like this with last minute purchasing .The camping ,well that was an afterthought I agree and the VW thing has complicated it but we have done our best and secured a deal so I really cant see what more we could do .

I think its the nature of the 5 people hold back to see if the 5s running closer to the time.. That's the reason im not running this year.. Agreed though even though I'm new this year I'm not feeling much love in the club lately.. Just my view that is.
Always up for a pod day:burnrubber:racing or not.
Probably just be spectating this year as the van needs the fuelling sorting out to be safe.

I've bought a ticket but as of yet have no car to race (unless someone wants me to drive there's! :D)
I got to say this year the hype for theday isn't as big as its been years before, i think this is probably the better of the 2 days the club do and its a shame so few tickets have been sold so far. I know few peoples cars aren't ready but thought there be few more than 5
Maybe the fact its a sunday and its sharing it with other racers has put few people off or the camping situation maybe, i know this has put me off camping this year.
Lets hope it does pick up as i'd hate to see this event get shelved in future
Robbie, ouch mate that don't sound good lets hope you make a recovery and get back to driving/work
I've yet to get my tickets.
I'm probably going to chick my 5 down the track for old times sake.
I can bring a couple of my customers with there minis again if that helps.
3-4 minis easy?

To add to what's already been said... I would think being as the european finals are on the following weekend there will be a few big/quick cars attending the test & tune!
I want to go to this on the sunday can i buy tickets to it threw the club or do i just buy them on the gate i wont be running a car just want to spectate
You can pay on the gate if your just Spectating:agree:
You can also pre-pay on the Santa pod website for just entry if your not running:)
Well i want to go mainly because it would be nice to meet a few members off here as so many people have been helpful and would be nice to put a face to the names

Would be good to all gather together i think
Going off what people have been saying about the amount of cars running, we will probaby all be around the back of the strip where all the cars that are running go.
As for camping on the Saturday, I'm not sure, because the vw thing looks to be a big event, so I would imagine the first field near the strip will be full at least if not the first few.
Probably a good idea if who ever is expecting to arrive first on the Saturday posts up on here where they are then we can all camp in the same spot.
I'm expecting to arrive around 4pm on the Saturday.
Clee, ive just sent the money for two tickets :)
:) OK
I've ordered 10 tickets of which 7 are spoken for .
I'm just about to pay for GT Josh's 3 tickets and 2 for me, how best to send the payment over? Gift?
anybody know if mikes going (the seller)
hi im goin up sunday as a spectator but i wanna go up in my 5 :) will i have to park in the fields up the road or will i be able to park in camping area as such
You will probs be able to just drive round to the strip/signing on office and park up somewhere there I would have thought, less walking that way:wasntme:

thats what i wanted to do! i wanted to drive up in the five and park round the back of pod but wasnt sure if we could if we wasnt running:confused:
TBH guys I really have no idea .
We have committee members dropping like flies and a serious lack of input from anyone else so for the time being I think it best to try and sort yourselves out if you intend going .
I won't be there as far too busy with work and family ,neither will any other CM as far as I know . Most of the tickets remain unsold and with limited camping available I can't see it getting any better .
Dawn should be posting out the tickets sold this week and the remainder back to me .Tuesday next week will have to be the last chance to buy tickets to run .The tickets to camp are coming from France and 10 on their way to me ,hopefully I'll get them this week and post out Tuesday also .
That's the score .
We really need some new dedicated blood to try and help run this place and organise events .Steve and Dawn did a cracking job on their own sorting ' NATIONAL DAY ' but the aftermath of a few choice comments has meant that we have now lost one of our best and hardworking CMs .
So if we dont buy tickets in advance we cant run? I dont get paid until friday 25th so cant buy any earlier.

can i get a entry ticket on the day at the gate?
Yes:)
can i get a running ticket on the day at the gate? i cant afford it until i do a clutch on mates car on the saturday, so i'll be rocking up cash in hand on the sunday!:)
No tickets available on the day I'm affraid. According to clee. :(
This is what he said,
Not available on the day .I repeat .Not available on the day .
I bought one of the 5 tickets and I'm gutted to say I can't go now.
Had a pretty serious accident at work mid week, two fingers went through chop saw, I was operated on yesterday, I've a severed tendon that can't be fixed and cut through nerves, 2 were fixed, one was beyond repair.
In cast up to elbow so no driving or working for me for the foreseeable future, GUTTED!!!!!
sorry to hear that rob, being a wood butcher myself , can imagine the pain your going through,( cut the top of my finger many years ago) , gather your covered insurance wise? you will be off work for quite sometime i would imagine, i did my time under a old skool carpenter many years ago, he lost two fingers of one hand to a surface planer, but he still managed to do 95% of the things he could do before the accident, as he said " you adapt " chin up mate , dont let it get you down.
we are travelling sunday morning so wondering when the actual start is also any conveys on sunday morning happening from south/south east m23/25 thanx mick
You can buy entry on the day but from Pod/VW event .
There will poss be some RTOC officials there on the day to buy tickets to run but I can't be certain hence why I said these were only in advance .Pod may also have tickets to run left on the day .
34 full ticket packages left .If someone wants the entry only then I will split them out .Might as well try and get some of that back :agree:
If you are attending then please buy the ticket through the club if you can rather than on the day :)
I'll even go so far as to send tickets and trust that you'll all pay up on the Monday after if pay day is an issue :)

Buy a ticket on the day.
thats the whole point, thought i couldnt without being stung for £30 or something for VW entrance as well, so like £90 just to run, puts it out of budget and i cant risk driving all the way there at silly am just to have an argument on the gate and come home
if i can be guaranteed entrance and runs on the door for the £60 then i'd go for it :)
It's 60 on the day .This seems to be one of the most confused events ever ......
We bought tickets for the Sunday test and tune .I had no idea the VW thing was even on till someone mentioned camping etc .
This is the link to the event rtoc bulk bought tickets for and the prices are all correct as shown here .
http://www.rwyb.co.uk/performance.php
The vw thing only came into it for the camping passes .
Just to clear things up!
Enterance on the Sunday is £10 on the gate, then it's £50 to run, that totals £60 for entrance and running. Ticketing on the Sunday is down to pod not the vw event.
I'm sure clee would post you a ticket out or a ticket to another member for you to pick up and pay for on the day. Its no big deal really ad the club has purchased 40 tickets, I'm pressuming that whatever the club doesn't sell on they won't get a refund for?
If you want to make tickets available on the day then as carcrash has already offered or indeed me or any other long term memeber I'm sure wouldn't mind having some tickets sent to to keep for runners who want to pay on the day. Seems a Shame to put people off just for this.

Thats going to be real shame if it doesn't happen next year since its been very popular past years and its prob the only event i really look forward too.
Considering it was busy past years and gone quiet this year might be interesting to see why its so quiet and then maybe work on that to make sure it doesn't happen next year, if same happens again then fair do's looks like the popularity of it has died off and doesn't warrent doing anymore
We always make a loss even when it is popular but it's getting to be unsustainable.
