im in need of the turbo oil return hose [the rubber part thats on the sump end].

before i go buying one, id like to know if its ok if i use a spare hose i have? the spare hose is the one that should fit under the turbo.
im wanting to use this as it looks to be the same diameter and almost the same shape.
the only thing im wanting to know is-
is the hose on the sump end made of hard rubber for any specific reason? where as the hose directly under the turbo is soft and easily squeezed.!

From memory I think the Phase I and Phase II had different size diameters on the sump return. I have used the oil return pipe from under the turbo before and not had a problem.

I have purchased a new black silicone reducer pipe 1-2 months ago now and I had a phase 1 sump with a phase 2 pipe, the id on the sump was 16mm and the phase 2 pipe other end was 22mm id.

ok,well my sumps is a ph2 type so im assuming its 22mm which would be the same diameter as the hose under the turbo. ill get on it now.:agree:

ive ordered a 22mm 90 degree and a 22mm to 16mm reducer in red from rally design.
its been two weeks now. and i still havent got them. and on there website it said it will take two weeks for them. so no probs with that.

rang them yesterday to see if there was any news on the order. and they said o it takes 4 weeks. and convientley on there website the part where it says two weeks has vanished.

was not happy with this but i couldnt be bothered to argue as they would have got a rage i rekon lol

wont be buying from them again.

sorry matey......
had fun with these from renault....they were arriving as wrong pipes in the bag...the under turbo one instead of the 90 onto the sump....

seems like they still have a problem as the number is not listed at the minute....

suggest , as above , Ben

no worries paul, on further investigation i found out that it wasnt actually the hose that was leaking, it was the sensor thats fixed to the sump right next to that hose.

oil is actually leaking out the top of the sensor where the 2 connectors are! never seen them leak like that before:confused: i thought it was just the copper washer that may have been buggered but noooo:sad2:

now i need a new one of them sensors:rolleyes:

mine went too on that sensor, leaking up the middle of it....

ALL early renaults have the same level sensor.....clio,19,21,5,9,11,18, etc...

you'll find one, or a good second hand one

sensor 7701349700 26.00

or a blanking bung
