Anyone got any tips for cleaning up my engine ready to paint?
Best cleaning solution or anything halfords sell that will clean the years of oil and crud off.
cheers all.

Apparently this stuff is very good:
Gunk Engine Degreaser
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_16 1497_langId_-1_categoryId_255222
I have never used it, so can not comment, although might give it a go this weekend... Let me know if you get it and use it before I do?

It's always what i've used to clean my engine & parts up when I was restoring the raider.
Best thing is to douse it on with a cheapie spray bottle from the pound shop & then agitate it with a stiff brush (think washing up brush).
Finally jet wash the whole lot off :D
Do it a couple of times & then let it dry naturally & it'll be grand! :niceone:

Do we need to "plastic bag" the dizzy cap? or any other componants?
I was told to also squirt WD40 in all the connectors once dry!
