I have 3 items,, but will be selling 2 out of the 3 (not sure which i want to keep yet)

1)Pace charge cooler with uprated bosch pump,,,and the pre rad doesnt look like the small one.. but Im not too sure

2)Forge intercooler

3)aquamist Water injection hardly used but been sat in car for about 5 years! (was connected for about 2 months then disconnected as i was told to get smaller jets but never got around to it)

You can sell the aquamist to me if you like:D. Id like to see what difference it makes.

wont make any unless you plan to run more boost. The idea is you'll be able to run more boost safely, thus increasing max power..

most pace chargecooler cores alone on the bay go for around the £100 mark, depending on vehicle application and interest :)

thank you for your replies :)

I would like to know,, if it would be safe to run the intercooler (above) for 20psi+ instead of the charge cooler?

(i do notice if i really push the car for a lil while, the water in the header tank is slightly warm,,, but it does cool down quite quickly after driving it normallly for a while)

the pace chargecooler will take well over 20 psi all day long ;)
fit as bigger pre rad as possible and increase your water pipe diameter too, as the 13mm ports are a bit feeble for bigger boost levels, 25mm is what you need, look to increae the pre rad ports diameter also, i used a celica gt4 pre rad;)
and maybe increase header tank capacity if its the standard pace item,as this will help take some of the heat out of the water as its pulled back out of the header into the pre rad inlet:)

or fit a frontmount intercooler, if you do stick with the chargecooler and mod the setup, try running it with out the intercooler, (guessing its the standard size /factory position intercooler with chargecooler pipe fed in /out to carb) as a the uprated all alloy items are beyond there effeciency over 18 psi, and might be adding to your air temps, that and your boost circuit being a bit longer/less responsive.

ye thats what ive done... ive taken out the intercooler completely, as it is more resposive like that (but wouldnt a front mount have a very big boost circuit too? js a side thought).... So as ive been running without the intercooler,, ive put the air filter there instead,, but not too happy about the warm water sometimes... its js silly how its next to the turbo (and i dont have a heatsheild.. will that help much?? and.. you sure the intercooler listed above will be inefficient above 18psi?? i was thinkin it might be better than the chargecooler :P

the standard size intercooler is to small/surface area ;)

deffo heat wrap the chargecoole, when i had a c1j set up like you ,ie pacechargecooler i popped to b&q and pickup 2 of there plumbers soldering mats, make a great heat proof barrier for the charge cooler sitting next to the turbo;)

also lagged the boost pipes and header to get rid of any radiant heat being absorbed :cooter:
