Steering lock.

Does anybody have any information on how the standard steering lock functions on the GTT? Obviously i know it locks the wheel once the key is removed but what parts actually make this happen.

You can just about see the pin / square piece of metal that drops down and locks the steering column.

So that pin is controlled by the ignition lock but is actually part of the large metal piece.
