Bin the carb. ( or ebay it ) and get it back to standard. Get the car setup properly with a AFR kit ...

air fuel ratio gauge/system,

measures how lean/rich your car is running. a must have if you want to setup a c1j without blowing it out of the engine bay.

How much would that set me back? Easy to fit? Or is it a shop job? Still need the hybrid?

can get ones for around £150 off scoff on here (efi-parts.co.uk)

just need to drill a hole in your downpipe and weld a bung in, then an ignition live into the gauge. easy as pie and like i say IMO a MUST.

I think so when I bought it. It was running 2bar.. And double the fuel Iv just had it turned down for my mot.. That's why I want the hybrid. I haven't hammerd it much.

thats way too much boost for a little t2 around 15-16psi is the max you want to be running on one of them.

as said your best money spent would be on a good afr kit from scoff at efi parts.

with regards to a hybrid turbo then i can supply virtually any spec hybrid and have sorted quite a few rtoc members great deals out upto yet. if your interested drop me a pm and ill sort you a few prices etc

Before you buy a turbo you need to know what boost you want to run and also what you want to use the car for, knowing these will help determine what's the best turbo for your engine

As mentioned beofre bin the grp A carb, fit a standard one and rejet that correctly. Turbo's don't blow the engines, poor set ups blow engines

Hi guys thanks for the advice.. Basically it's my everyday ride but I am taking this seriously. I don't want styling I want to keep the outside plain. But I drive to and from work about 9 miles there then back and out for fun at the weekends.. I want to start to come to the meets and I am an enthusiast that wants to keep the five alive and well. What do you guys think of prima racing as they are five mins away from me. I want power but I also want reliability. Take today for instance a Subaru kept pushing and pushing for me to floor it. I would love to be able to shock them :-) I have the money and I'm willing to spend a couple of grand to begin with. But if I'm going to take the five to a nice level which way should I go? I can't wait to bring my daughter along to some shows when I have to look after her for the weekend and envolve her in my hobby. I'm 35 not 17 and I am serious about keeping the five inlet one go once but not again.. Cheers guys Paul

As your using it everyday i would keep it nice road car, you don't want to be going too big maybe a nice T2/T25 which will give good response but will give you the extra punch you need and be able to handle a nice increase in boost too.

With round 18psi that will work well, if combined with a nice mild cam you'll gain abit more mid range which will make it feel more lively from standing start.

Plus you'll need a standard carb too so you can bin that grp A one ;)
