Well, while we're on the subject what are your top ten "Hot Hatch" list. It must fall into the traditional hot hatch fold, i.e. FWD and not a rally special, so Escort Cossie and Nissan GTI-R are out. Think of what they were like straight out of the box. Mine would look something like this:

1. Renault Clio Williams
2. Renault 5 GT Turbo
3. Renault Sport Megane R26R
4. Peugeot 205 GTI
5. Renault Sport Clio 200
6. Renault Sport Clio 182 Trophy
7. Ford Focus Mk2 RS
8. VW Golf GTI Mk 1
9. Peugeot 106 GTI Rallye Mk 2
10. Peugeot 306 GTI-6 Rallye

Obviously each list is going to be VERY subjective but, you've gotta start somewhere.......

supprised the mk1 astra GTE isnt on anyones list, was a propper weapon when it first came out and has all that 80's boxyness cool about it

Never driven a Mk1 but, Mk2 with the Red Top were rapid. Handling was a bit dicey though, which is why it didn't make my list. There's probably a Civic Type R (the boxy one, EG?) and Integra Type R that might squeeze in there somewhere...
