View Full Version : Side exit exhaust
I am thinking about buying a side exit exhaust for my 5 but other than having to get the bodyshop to delete the the original exit cut out in rear bumper what else would I have to do and is it worth it
Nothing else involved in fitting one. An 2.5inch crossover pipe will help you mate the sidey correctly. without one you may need an adaptor to get the thing to seal at the front join :)

wrighy on here cut the sill and welded it/modded the skirt to allow the pipe to sit higher..
looked tidy:cool:
i however go by the bang, clunk, scrape rule...:p
its a sidey, chop the sill about all you want you still got a silencer where its not ideal to have a silencer, unless you chop that out...tractor 5...
:)
Does the Sidey silencer sit in the original exhaust position then a pipe out has anyone got pics of one fitted

it takes the same route as any other 5 exhaust, down the centre, but then where the hanger is near the rear wheel it comes out under the sill (so this can catch on bumps and so can the silencer in the middle of the exhaust)
But they are still by far the coolest exhausts for the r5
before it goes on have some 'ramps' welded onto each end of the silencer it will help when your going over stuff.
:):agree:
Bloody he'll they scrape that bad do they
I crushed the bottom half of the silencer on mine on a speedbump, hasnt really caught since
