View Full Version : NW Karting @ Hooton Park 22/4/12
Hi everyone. I've booked a Grand Prix karting day for us all on Sunday 22nd April starting at 11:00am. The cost will be £45 and we need a minimum of 6 drivers. This will be around 1.5 hours actually in the kart. Please see the website for further info:
http://www.hootonparkcircuit.co.uk/Index.html
I'd really like a good gathering for this as past karting events I've done have been great fun if a little thin on the ground....... Hopefully this date gives everyone plenty of time to arrange a day off etc.
I've visited the track just the other weekend and it's a large outdoor track used for proper MSA events so looks like it'll be a cracking day!
Any questions please ask.....
:)
Great work Alex ;)
Let the fun begin! :agree:
Im in.
I have a title to defend:burnrubber:

Invite her along.....;)
Invite her along.....;)
It's an option, not sure she would relish the fact of having to bring two babys along with her also! Not sure I would either:laugh:
I was thinking more along the lines of doing a few jobs round the house, maybe cooking her a nice meal, bit of housework then bringing up the subject again;) we will see how I get on:D

Huh, I only mentioned that as that's what I said to my Mrs (knowing full well she'd say no!)
A bit of hoovering brought her round in the end!
So how many drivers do you need?? is it like a team event or just come along and have a go??
The minimum needed is 6 which we have already, anymore is happy days. I will need to let them know in advance how many are coming so they know how many karts to prepare mind.....:)
nice one alex , count me as a deffo ... should be a good day :)

As far as I'm aware we still race. I visited the track a while a go and they were racing along on the rain. I think Tony has raced in the rain there too :)

 If any of you read this thread before you race, watch out for this quite unassuming guy possably in a red phase 1.......a friendly nudge to one of his rear wheels should sort him out.:cooter: he has a habit of winning everything from raffles to races!:p

I would of also loved to come to this looked like a top event again guys , but hey ho im in mexico working again away from home:mad:
Wow, what outrageous fun that was! A big thanks to everyone that attended, especially the guys that came from further a field (Blocky & Scoff etc)
The day started off nasty - cold and raining heavily. The karts were on slicks so you can guess how difficult it was! The format was 2 heats per driver then a B final and anA final. The person that won the B final took part in the A final.
So....... The results!
B final:
1, T. Adams (Timmy) Time: 8:37.85
2, R. Dhillion (Ranj) + 7.93
3, S. Dhillon + 29.45
4, P. Warby + 39.77
5, B. Hughes (my bro in law) +1 lap - 9
6, W. Kely + 1 lap - 27
A final:
1, T. Adams Time 10:12.83
2, I. Lomax (Lomo) + 11.95
3, A. Daniel + 12.37
4, A. Bloxsome (Blocky) +14.78
5, C. Blackwell (Scoff) + 19.60
6, T. Walker + 23.84
7, A. Woolley (Alex) + 38.70
Fastest lap of the day goes to Tony Walker which was 49.38 seconds set at the end of the day. In the first wet session his time was 1:06.32 so you can see how wet it was!
Well done to the top 3 - Timmy, Lomo and Alan :agree:
Not this time,
LOMO Cheated:sad2:

I lent him that helmet he was wearing, I had to spend about 20 minutes stripping it down and cleaning mud off it - it was even on the inside!
Just want to add my thanks to everyone for making it a great day out ... Driving them karts on the soakin track with slicks on was a great experience. :)
It was a top day indeed, thanks Alex for organising:niceone:
