New poster! (less than 10 posts)

Afternoon.

My 5's previous owner removed the dashboard clock to fit a boost gauge in it's place. I had to remove ash tray yesterday and saw that in the process he had cut the connector off and generally ruined that part of the wiring loom!

I've had a look in the haynes manual, but the wiring diagrams are far from the most user friendly that I have encountered.

Is anybody able to confirm the colour/function of the clock wires to save me ages with a multimeter.

I think that it is -

Black - Earth
Red - Permanent live
yellow - ignition switched live
Blue - illumination power (from the lighting circuit)

Also,
What does a Haynes manual call the big loom connector that you can see behind the dash directly in front of where the ash tray goes?
The red wire coming into the connector from the drivers side at the top has also been butchered, but I don't know what it connects to.

Many thanks in advance.
