Just found this on ebay,

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=130642573524

Seller obviously has no clue about 5s (high lift cams in bottom end?? & ecu? must mean aei!)
but looks to be a original near complete low mileage car that has had a hard life, but managed to escape the chav boys. TLC needed but for 1k with bits supplied could be a bargain for someone with mechanical knowledge. Will more than likely need sills an other bits but if you can weld :agree:

I doubt it'll fetch 1k! more like a few hundred quid!

The high lift cam would be in the bottom end if thats whats in it!

Its more the fact he said cams! Still a good car for somebody on here with a budget.

I thought that would be worth 1k all day long ? Engine's are 2 a penny, the car itself looks great to me. Maybe I lost track of what standard cars are worth ?

I'd have had it if it weren't so far, looks ok to me as well, long way to go to find out it's not though :crap:

Got to be worth 1k if its as good up close. Few quid and u could easily double your money

Thats what i was thinking, and seeing as prob 80% of the club do alot of maintenance themselves would be an easy profit for someone.
How much did markey b get for his tungy barn find in the end? because this car looks to be in a similar if not better state to what he started with.

Problem being is location rather than value of car, if in centre of England easily get that money and more, but being that far up north, somebody will be getting a bargain

No tax, no test and a knocking bottom end not to mention the massive ding in the roof... Thats not £1k in my book, maybe cars fetch better money furhter south.

Even most running gtts for 1k are generally ****e though ashy ! Ive seen some dogs lately with questionable mot's and absolutely knackered running gear

I messaged him and offered him £800 he said he would take it as he just wants the cash back thats been put into the car and to see the back of it asap.

Mileage is kind of irrelevant on a car that's been laid up for so long. All brakes will need servicing, rubber bushes will have perished etc. it's got a ding in the roof and rust coming through in places. A knackered engine and a mystery bottom end that's a pure gamble if it's any good at all.

In my eyes £500 is right enough. Fair enough it's only got 58k on it but really that's the only thing you'd be buying it for at £1k

If its a solid shell, and body is fair then a grand has to be a good shout, engines etc can be built in no time and cost about 100 quid in parts if you re use old parts if possible.

Infact in parts its prob worth it...

What would i know though  lol

Lookung at it, dents in the roof so that rules a good body out, offer up £400

TBH you never know the extent of the rust on the sills and bumper brackets etc.

Easy fix with ASHY's kit ;) it needs looking at...... bargin time but collection is a pita
