Evening all,
Got this last night. Pretty tidy for the price paid. Noticed a few problems which I will sort before a remap. Turbo seems a bit weak does not smoke though . Will most likely invest in a hybrid or t28.
Has uprated clutch and gearbox, bailey dump valve, TSW Razors(not sure what to do with these, they do look nice )

Want to get a standard bonnet. Even though the "badboy" is growing on me lol
Always wanted one. Put a mk1 Focus RS on hold for the time being due to a change of circumstances ah well looking forward to some RWYB on the drag strip and maybe few track days in the summer.

pretty difficult to "remap" but i think what you mean is up the boost and fueling, you should probably read through some articles on tuning the C1J before doing anything though. id keep the boost down untill you understand it well or things will end in
Looks nice tho :agree:

Ye as you can tell I don't know much about mechanics lol. But ye local guy can do fueling for me. Doesn't feel that quick at the moment. Does have a clunk as well on gear changes think could be mounting or drive shaft.
Body work has a few cracks but all in all pretty tidy

theres a funny front lolipop stabilser that likes to clunk when worn, most 5s seem to have them removed but i just put a new bush over the outside of mine, looks like the picture and its bolted to the gearbox and enters the front subframe. local member or local garage for the fueling? do you know what boost pressure your 5s set to?

Turbo Boost
If you do turn the Boost up above 15psi then really the fuelling needs to be adjusted to pump in the correct ratio of fuel into the engine by maybe using bigger carb jets. If you do not increase the fueling to match the higher Boost then you will get "PINKING" or "DETONATION" as it is called. This WILL damage pistons which are expensive to replace as the engine has to come out and the engine be rebuilt. http://www.renault5gtturbo.com/pics/reced/BOOSTGAUGE.jpg
A
0.55bar 8.25psi
B
0.65bar 9.75psi
C
0.7bar 10.5psi
D
0.8bar 12.0psi
E
0.9bar 13.5psi
Another cause of a head gasket to blow is the car overheating and considering that 5's run hot as it is there really is no margin for error. So if you're driving a 5 always keep a watchful eye on the cars temperature gauge. Driving along a five should read just below to halfway on the temperature gauge under normal driving conditions and maybe rise a little on the motorway and when putting your foot down where the Turbo is being used alot. While sitting in traffic the Cooling Fan should cut in just before the 2 3rd's line on the gauge. If you notice that the fan doesn't cut in when the temperature gauge gets to the 2 3rd's line switch the car off and let the car cool down. "NEVER LET THE CAR OVERHEAT" "NEVER LET THE CAR'S TEMPERATURE GAUGE GET INTO THE DANGER ZONE AND WAIT FOR THE RED LIGHT TO COME ON AS BY THEN THE DAMAGE IS PROBABLY ALREADY DONE" You may have a dodgy thermostat or Fan switch which isn't working properly which may be the reason the fan isn't cutting in.
FOR THESE REASONS THE CAR'S COOLING SYSTEM ALWAY'S NEEDS TO BE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER.

Welcome along Samuel - I mirror the comments of the others and add - you don't appear to have a charge cooler!
If you need any help - post up on here, there's always a helping hand here.

You've got an intercooler(air to air) chargecoolers are water cooled.

Jobs to be done ASAP
Fix speedo intermittently stops working
Fit choke cable pita to start
Find clunking noise and fix - feels like engine clunks on gear change. Will check advised above.
Give service
Non of the aftermarket gauges work currently
Turn boost up a touch
Add Rtoc sticker

air/fuel ratio mate
you need them checking especially at full boost.
you can buy the aem kit direct from scoff (efi-parts) for around £150, you would need to have a bung welded into your downpipe if it not already been done

i do agree with the afr comment but u can up it a little, the D 12psi mark will be fine. just looking at your intercooler tho, it doesnt look like a strapped one, im not sure what the standard item pops at..... someone will clarify for me...... worth putting 2/3 big cable ties around top to bottom to keep it together.

Thanks tony. Think it has a big rubber strap around it I'll take a pic in the light. Is it a case of moving the actuator?

The clunk I'm getting feels like the engine or something rocking back when I put my foot down.
Choke doesn't work:(
Going to get some vids up this weekend If the weather holds off.
I have access to my gf's dads pits n tools plus got a Haynes manual so going to learn as I go along.
