afr logging

after the rr day at warpspeed i discovered the 5 was running lean wot
when looking at the rr print out it seemed like a good idea to use the lc1 i bought from the club group buy to log afr,s against rpm to assist in carb tunning
there in lies the problem im unsure how:ashamed:
im happy to tune the carb but not really computer minded and unsure how to get an rpm signal from the engine into the laptop
im assuming id have to rig up a crank sensor or inductive clamp(what would you suggest?) and have ordered the usb to serial port adaptor is there an interface id need to imput the rpm signal into the laptop or would the signal go to the lm1 controler
any advice appreciated

Hey there Alan,

The LC-1 can only directly log AFRs. You need to get hold of the LMA-3 auxbox and that will allow you to log other variables. Mart did have two of them for sale... I bought one of them.
