MR2 fun car....

A phone call later, met up with the owner this evening & its mine...

a MR2 GT, UK Car, 110k, FSH (Alot Main Dealer), no major problem, mint original Paintwork, no dents, dings or scratches, all previous MOT/Tax discs, loads of reciepts, money no object in the past, hardly covered 30k in the last 14 years, good tyres allround, nice leather interior...

A nice daily driver for me, the 5 can be a track slag now :)

Most Likely, although Cheap insurance is a :agree:, sadly Tax is alot (I am used to paying £20 a year for my fiesta:laugh:

Toyotas are the best daily drivers ever I love my carina.Going anywhere in the 5 I always wondered if I'd get their that's why it's probably going to be for track only once its restored.

Good find penfold my mate has a gt and has spent a bit modifying it to handle even better.

Anybody fancies doing a Gearbox swap in the near future... may drop the engine & do clutch, belts at the same time :)

Had one of these years ago.. Great fun!! Although if it's a rev1 (pre 92) you might want to find a 94-95 r3 in a scrappy and swap the rear suspension or it will land you backwards into the woods at 70 mph (I speak from experience) most of the R3s have a box with a LSD in as well and even better sell them for £50 (nice little upgrade)

You can do the cambelt in the car if you have little hands (isnt too bad) dont wanna drop the engine and box out unless you have a pit/lift as whole lot has to come out the bottom ..:sad2:

I wont sell it for anything near the asking price on ebay... Am hoping to sell off ebay & save fee's.

Short version of a long story, I was meant to stop teaching come the end of feb & my learner car was going... So I would have been left with the MR2 & the 5....

But got offered my learner car for another 7 months for 50% what I am paying now... So I took it, no way do I need 3 cars, so either the MR2 or 5 has to go.... & seeing how I have the bike carbs ready to go on the 5 the MR2 should go 1st & hopefully i wont loose any money... Maybe make a tiny profit... :)
