Clarke CEW 1000 Electric impact wrench

thinking about purchasing this using my vat free voucher. Ive always wanted a descent impact gun after using friends snap on guns, however my issue is they are always cordless and the batterys for them things are over £100 a time. I wouldnt use it enough to warrant that but in the same light theres often jobs where i wish i had one.

with that in mind im looking at the below
450nm of torque, well priced, and machine mart have always been good with me regarding breakages etc.

thoughts ?

should handle most jobs i imagine.

I have one of those Clarke guns. Get one, you won't regret it, no need to remember to charge it up either. Nothing has beaten mine yet. It makes suspension mounts, strut tops, wheel bolts etc a breaze to undo. :agree:

ive not got it yet ron, just wanted a genearl overview and it sounds like there good . btw ron do machien mart do trade?, and is it hard to 'qualify'.

Maybe mine was duff. I got the most expensive 240v one they made and it wouldn't shift a wheel bolt let alone any on the suspension so I backed it.

I am a hgv mechanic I had one with a cord and found it good but I have a snap on one now cordless 18 volt very powerful and comes with 2 battery's so u charge one whilst using the other u would be amazed how much u would use it and they last for years

My issue is that i hear the batterys dont like sitting, and i would only use the tool a few times every month, so bit of a waste really :(

That used to be true but not any more but I suppose it could be abit overkill

I bought a makita cordless but only as it uses the same battery as my drill very handy tool, whether you get the quoted 450nm of torque though is another matter.

well i got it in the end.. only thing ill say is its big and its heavy.. but did a full set of split rims and a bottom pulley without breaking a sweat.
