Anyone using these on his/her car on here ?

How long have you been using and how do you rate them compared to
standard 260mm brakes ?

Any issues with them etc ?

Std GTT discs are 238mm, Clio 16v/Williams/R19 16v are 259mm. ;)

Ah ha! I'm not sure how effective the TXi 285 Discs are but, they have a crap offset which means you may get caliper contact with certain wheels. I have a set and I can't fit my R19 16v Phase 2 alloys on with the 285 TXi discs,

my 5 has been off the road for a while now but i was running the big brake conversion.

my only issue with them is they're really heavy compared to standard discs, i found once fitted it tended not to spin the wheels as easily on hard acceleration and put it down to the extra weight.

For a cheap and easy/effective brake conversion.....
If you use model code number C57D. Clio 16v.
Get hold of the discs and pad carriers, they are a direct fit with no modifications required, other than a minimum of 14" diameter wheels.
Pad carrier part no. 7701040840 for both sides (not handed).
Discs part no. 7701206339 (a pair).

I have this set up and it works well. Discs not to heavy but the larger diameter helps braking a lot.

From the Clio 16v but direct for to the gtt.

I bought the whole 16v brake and disc set up, but did find the carrier from the 16v didn't fit the sliders on the gtt calliper but I just swapped the sliders over as the 16v pistons were ****e:D

Yes, clio 16v brakes on a R5, sprinted on that set up for a GTT for around 3 years.

I have some spacers on my front wheels to fix clearance.

While spacers will fix the clearance issue they will effectively change the wheel offset which will effect steering feel, bump steer and tyre scrub to name a few. Obviously the size of the spacer is proportional to the effect i.e. 5mm spacer will have next to no effect while a 15mm spacer might be quite noticeable.

The Clio 16v brake set up is the same offset as the GTT and offers a better compromise on brake performance and unsprung weight.

Mine are pretty thin, 5mm sounds about right.

same for me 5mm spacer, wheel bolts needed to be longer as when torqueing standard bolts they started to chew threads. The txi discs are more than adequate they barely warmed up at mallory park but theres not a massive amount of braking on that circuit. I doubt you'd suffer any fade with them but i do think they may be a bit overkill. and the clearance on 15inch wheels is veryyyyyyy close, i think the 16v option may be a better bet. plus the 21txi discs are more expensive.

I had the TXi discs and PMT extenders fitted to my old GT Turbo, awesome braking with no fade. I used them on 2 trackdays (Rockingham and Woodbridge) and on the No Bling trip to Nurburgring. Made such a difference compared to the 238m OE set up
