this is the blue rear engined 5 with grey bodykit, i think it was built by scoff..? haz..? i think it was last owned by matt[notnormal].?

its been off the road as soon as the new owner bought it, this was due to the car having a constant problem of the coolant system pressurising on boost and throwing all the coolant out.

well good news is that a top engine builder local to me has fully stripped and rebuilt it for the current owner and its all up and running well :agree:

it sounds bloody scary awesome, its also been on the rollers and made 270bhp!! @the wheels or flywheel i dont know.

im sure its had a different turbo fitted too. im unsure what boost its actually running etc.

the owner im told also has a r21 turbo quadra!

good to know the 5 is back out there.

:)

very good, it lives on! I'd be interested to know if they narrowed the cause of the pressurising.

as for who did what - I built it originally with a C1J, Matt bought it, Haz fitted the volvo engine and painted the car, I made the exhaust, wired the ECU and mapped it.

Glad it's going again :)

It clearly didn't spend much time in a bubble if it was crashed 1 week after you sold it :(

Good to see someone now owns it and has taken it to the next level 270bhp should be interesting. Wonder if he'll come to my RR day next weekend!

the cars still sat in the same place sat in the corner of the workshop, after it was rebuilt he managed to turn a piston or to into liquid metal:crap: the guy who rebuilt it for him (who really does know his stuff) told the owner to get it setup on the rollers before giving it the beans. and possibly getting a standalone setup he didnt listen and raped it from the word go.:crap:

i see the car nearly every other day, still looks the same

Was that the year where the starter motor packed up and Matt and his mates pushed it back to the rtoc club stand area where you proceeded to do a few cheeky donuts?

whats the hardest part of a rwd conversion i assume its buildong shockk towers and mounting the subframe, but can anyone who has done this before explain how this done.

sounds about right, would be nice to see it again.
in the words of those that have done it 'if you need to ask you cant' ! its been asked so many times, there are no set jigs for this conversion. basically chop the back out, floor chassis legs etc offer up the subframe inc running gear and make mounting points and weld in. std turret from the front can be used or fabricate some up. i've spent years around this car, in fact i think i met scoff shortly after he build his, and still wouldn't klnow how to do it, mainly because i feel my welding skills are not up to the job so i'd never actually do it myself, thus most see it pointless explaining it all.
