got a fueling problem guys turbos set at 21 psi and a 285 piper cam standard venturi 1.2mm main 2mm needle valve standard 1st stage 1.3 2nd stage 1mm a/c. carb idles great at 14.7 when on boost it drops to high 9,s and when of throttle slowing down the back end pops and splutters and afr,s shoot up to high 18,s :mad: any ideas guys.

Smaller second stage. When coasting in gear it will go lean like that as the butterfly is closed so no fuel getting sucked through and engine still reving high, no need to worry tho is normal. Or that's what I was told when I had same prob

what about the poppin and spluttering as you slow down it trys to cut out when you stop

Popping on the over run is fine and imo sounds good but shouldn't be spluttering and trying to stall. Is that when you dip the clutch down?

not clutch matey just when slow down to 2nd and let foot of pedals. back to the afr,s on boost just dont want it ti go bang when it drops to mid 9,s. would a smaller a/c do.:)

Try richen the idle up just alittle to stop it trying to stall when you lift off the throttle

what do you think to the carb spec for 21psi marky on boost it drops to high 9,s.:)

What size turbo you got on there?

I would say the 2nd stage is little big but to get around that try enlarge the air corrector alittle

turbo is a stage 3 hybrid with a T3 actuator. what about going back to the 1.25 a/c or from a 1mm to 1.1mm should i down size the 2nd to 1 1.2 i have a spare carb base. and what about the standard main jet should i go for a bigger one.

id certainly look at dropping the 2nd stage to 1.2 thats mega rich on boost fella

The popping and spluttering might just be the excess fuel being dumped into the hot exhaust on over run. As said above, drop the second stage down (this is easier said than done as it's a fixed bush).

Put the other carb on and slowly open up the second stage start at 2 slowly go up by .2 each time.

Is that a T25 of some discription that turbo, stage 3 doesn't mean much? Only reason i ask is you get rough idea if 2nd stage is too big depending on the size of the turbo

If you have a spare carb body yes go smaller 2nd stage, i on;t mentioned going larger ac as its pain to reduce size of 2nd stage once its been drilled.

Leave main jet standard, don't really want to go bigger on that

If its turbo technics it will be a full t25 but have no idea on housing sizes.

try a 0.5 idle jet and reset the idle mixture . that should help with the popping on over run and also should richen it up a tad over the hole rev range..
