My front jacking points are looking a bit soft. Where can I get some and how much should I be paying to have them welded in?

Just had one of my jacking points replaced and some work done on the lower half of one sill, cost me 150 in labour, for just both jacking points id say it wouldnt be expensive as its only a case of drilling spot welds and welding new jacking points on, at a guess for both id say 150 quid max

just checked these out. these look pretty good on my car. the problem area is the very front of the sill where it meets the wheel arch and jacking point.

the rest of the sill is solid, just seems the front 3 inches is a bit soft. can this be repaired or am i better putting in new sills?

ideally i would like a fix so that i can get the car a fresh MOT then look at having them done properly later on in the year. i will get some pics up tomorrow of the effected area.

any advice?

Exactly the same as mine mate, front of sill was hardly existant and inner sill had started to go to the point the floor needed plateing, i wouldnt have the whole sills replaced if i were you, have you taken the skirt off yet as when i did with mine it was apparent that more needed doing as the skirt hides a lot, from the price a set off sills cost now it would probably work out cheaper if a decent fabricator just replaced the rotten area, as for a decent welder the chap who did mine is an old school friend who owns a classic car restoration workshop and has to repair old rolls royces, damliers, jags ect and his work is flawless, if you were to go through me it would be a lot cheaper, im yet to take pics of the work and i suppose your a fair distance from me..

shame you are so far away..:(

i have not taken the skirts off as not really sure how they come off and i don't want to break them. i have had a good prod and poke and the sills look and feel ok other than the first couple of inches.

i would rather just patch them for the time being so that i can get it MOT'd. did you replace the sills as well as the jacking points?
