Right, seing as my ph1 project is nearing completion i thought id better get my ass in gear and get a motor sorted, seeing as the old engine ended up going in the cup car leaving the ph1 motorless ! :D

Ive got so many spares id thought id combine the best bits i have a build up a nice little tidy lump, Il write on here with pics as i go incase it helps anyone else wanting to do the same thing

Im quite lucky i have all the kit at my disposal at work which makes life alot easier when it comes to cleaning up / checking parts :).

Right, big thanks to Big Steve, the block and crank came from a low mileage R11T. Block was acid dipped at work and throughly cleaned / flushed. blown through, threads chased etc. The crank was standard and just needed a slight polish in the lathe and it was good to go. I picked four of my best liners, measured them up on the CMM at work and gave them a quick hone. Again i found four decent pistons and fitted new rings. New big ends, mains and thrusts are in the post. I have cleaned up all the other internals / refurbed the oil pump etc etc. All the top end is already built up, ready to bolt on....Il take pics over the weekend as i go

In no particular order, only got afew pics atm

Gonna have to stick my new liners in now. Two of the ones id refurbed were below the level of the block by a knats! Checked all 4 of the new ones and ive got perfect protrusion on all. Not sure how the old liners could of worn that way, or maybe they were slightly out or tolerence from the factory ?

Put the new pistons and liners in, in the end. Protrusion was spot on eventually :)...Got the cam and timing gear fitted tonight and also got the head on and torqued up :)
