finally guna start a project thread :D i bought my 5 early summer of this year and have to say that it has been one of the best purchases i have made! this is how i got it

http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae2/mk2450bhp/rtoc1/rtoc1.jpg

it was standard apart from the wheels couple of hoses boost gauge scorpion exhaust and clutch.
i dint really use it much when i first bought it until a change in jobs forced me to, it ran ok for a wile until the alternator went i got another recon one and that dint work either lol all working now tho with the 3rd alternator
then i joined rtoc and the reactions were good from my car but few people had said different wheels and i was also thinking that so now it has a set of ronal turbos that i got at a decent price. wanted more power markey markey got in contact and said what i needed with power i wanted then i spent the next few weeks getting the parts together for mark to get them on. a t2/t25
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae2/mk2450bhp/rtoc1/rtoc3.jpg
i also picked this up from dj when i picked my wheels up
http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae2/mk2450bhp/rtoc1/rtoc4.jpg

the first weekend did'nt go well first we had the wrong oil feed so that involved a trip to portmouth to get the right one then after we got that i had a dodgy camshaft after it wouldnt idle for sh*t :crap: we got on the fone to mike straight away for another blue seal headgasket and a piper 270 cam mike got these sent out very fast thank you mike :agree:

car looks great mate, coming on leaps and bounds, the wheels suit it better than i thought, could do with just getting that front end down a tad i think.

btw 165/50/15 stretch looks like the following, to give you an idea, you may want some other wheels for track sessions though.

Cheers dj it will be going on coilovers when I've got the front mount on and piped up, that stretch ain't as bad as I thought it would be guna have to get them sorted. Them tyres are potenza's ain't they?

how are you finding it with he new cam and turbo on??

Bumblebee1990
02-01-2012, 18:05
Cheers mate I love it. Erm it's a massive difference over standard Pulls so much harder before it used to roar about 5 over to 7 but now I'm getting that a 3 to 7 it's at a bar at the minute and I'm finding it even with a tad bit damp on the roads I'm spinning like crazy in 3rd. Turbos comes in about the same as it did with standard t2 but that could be because I have the 2 1/2 inch downpipe I'm not sure.

Cheers:agree: I'm getting nothing but good feedback with these on needs some stretched tyres as these are hitting the kit when I have somebody in the back :( also il be having a 4 inch onit soon has any body had any big clearance issues with putting it in the weeds and bigger exhaust?

Looks much better on the Turbo's! Has this been painted in Renault Liquid Yellow?

Putting 165 tyres or another variant of stretch will look much better, but will make it a bit more of a handfull, less tyre on the road dont forget.

Also when fitting stretch tyres the wheel looks smaller/skinny in the arch, especially the rears so you may find you'll need to get some spacers, maybe 10mm just to bring the wheel out a little. I found I had this problem when fitting 165's to my williams wheel's, albeit they are 6.5J and yours are 7J (but better offset) if I'm not mistaken, but they just looked like bike wheels without spacers.

Bumblebee1990
03-01-2012, 17:27
Cheers mate its megane spider yellow. I have 8mm spacers on at the minute but they hit on the arch when I go over a bad bump I took the spacers of then the car would jus not move its fouling some were but I carnt see were.

yea man thats cool, weld , grind polish.

Or if you get lazy this guys meant to be the dogs bollocks when it comes to polishing
http://www.rainbowpolishing.co.uk/

although cant imagine him being cheap, saying that the wheels will come back far shiner than new , as out the factory there diamond cut/lacqured (far cheaper than producing polishing wheels)

Rare.

hey, im the tyre fitter DJ is talking about :P

if you buy the tyres i can fit them on, charge £20-£30 depending on how hard they are, but they dont look too bad and i remember doing them on those exact wheels not long ago, so more than likely be the lower end of that price figure.. failing that we can supply and fit 4 bridgestone potenza's brand new for circa £230, but i'll have to double check that the prices of the tyres havnt inflated since the last order, i'll be visiting you with DJ on saturday anyway cus i've sold some wheels to Markey Mark and makes sense to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.. or should i say with 1 bee? :)

Rainbow aint bad on there prices, i've taken a few wheels there in the past and he's charged me £140 for a set of 4, mirror polished, and there REALLY good. he's very straight talking though, hates being messed about and likes to get conversation over and done with as soon as he can, and he's quick, but sometimes he's bad with times, ie he will say 3 days but it will be more like 5.. he can also get curbing out, but i dont know if thats extra, and i dont know if he welds the wheel or grinds it back... but if you give him a call he is more than happy to give you a yes or a no :P

Dj I really ain't got time to do them myself got silly amounts of work to do without my private jobs lol will give that chap a call and find out how much' but it's guna involve sending them to him he's in oldbury lol

Rare: what's circa? Lol Want to get the wheels done before tyres get put on this should hopefully be a couple of weeks away :agree:

like the car matt, love the contrast to the megane yellow and the body kit, looks great and really fresh...:agree: but the rear lights imo could do with new lense`s as it makes the whole rear to me , look err dated, still , good going bud and keep up the good work!!!!....:)

ps maybe a new header tank...cheap as chips , makes a whole difference.

circa = roughly or around :), so around the £230 mark, fitted, guess it depends on price of tyres at the time.

Prices on the bridgestones always seem a bit all over the shot as the vw boys go mad for them and there silly wide wheels.

As far as I'm aware the reverse light isnt tested on an MOT, so they are not needed!
