I need a new set of front shocks, what are the best for a fast road set up for both road holding and reliability? I currently have a set of koni sport and avo coilovers and both have leaked and are un-useable.:sad2: both sets have quite a few miles on them so is it worth getting then re-built at £100 a set or just get new ones if so what are peoples recommendations?

Id stick with the koni's schwartz, get them refurbed then you know they're done and good for the next few years, i personally dont like coilovers, koni FTW.

Yeah i put the coilovers on so i could adj the ride height but ended up just leaving it and didnt like them much, so went back to the koni's and realised why i had taken them off.
looks like its going to cost me £100 just for the labour not inc parts to have then refurbed, but can buy new ones for £260 so may go with that if nothing else comes up.

I rate the spax that are on mine and I had kw on my previous car which also gave similar positive feel.Leda are the best to go for aren't they? But for a non adjustable good allround shock go for the spax they don't even feel harsh and I've took corners at stupid speeds and managed to get out of trouble.

Had a look at the spax shocks, the ones filled with krypton gas. Are these better than the usual oil filled ones? Also do they need servicing more regulary or more prone to leaking?

Leda aren't in business any more... But equivalent are the Gaz golds (designed and made by the same peeps...) for anything less than totally dedicated track use, you just cannot beat the koni's excellent bit of kit...

what about the gaz GHA shock kits that cgb sell? I was looking at a new set of koni dampers but at £260 and the risk that the rears are not that good either is it worth doing for the gaz kit? does anyone have the kit on what are they like?

I'm sure I read details on the koni site about refurbs and repairs.. They list them...

When they refurd they come back as new so I hear, but does cost a few quid.. Last time I heard the price of new it was 450. Ouch..

Yeah I have spoke to the 3 places listed on the koni site but was looking for somewhere local. 50quid per shock to be repaired plus parts, seals oil ect....

well went to order new koni dampers and there is a six week wait:eek: so im back to getting mine rebuilt or going for some spax dampers. I know when they have been rebuilt they will be good but there is no warranty offered on rebuilt items so who is to say they wont go wrong in a few months. Anyone know a place that still stocks konis for the gt?
