I would like to use my bailey dump valve on the b18ft and so fitted it the other day but i cant seem to get it to phhhssst...i had it fitted when i had the standard t2 fitted and it sounded awesome but now im running the t28 all im getting is wastegate chatter, im running the same boost as i were with the t2, i cant understand it, All the vacuum pipes are fine and in the correct places, could it be an actuator issue as i have no clue, any help would be appreciated, Tim

The piston is probably jammed on the dumpvalve. The bailey ones always stick, mine used to stuck open causing a boost leak! Get it binned;)

hmmm, im tempted to do away with it now, do i stand any chance of wastegate damage by not having one?? cheers for the help.

No damage will happen to the turbo without one.

i think you have to run a re-circ dump valve on a b18ft as it upsets the airflow meter or something like. i run mine without

sooo, is it better not to have a sump valve on a b18 engine????

For me i'd leave the dump valve off the car, as its after the MAF unit it might cause idle issues due to it leaking air if its not an adjustable one

They do an adjustable one which was avaliable for the Escort RS Turbo (same sort of issue), if its been set right it'll be ok but you find on here the dreaded dump valve isn't loved that much! ;)

Personal taste really, can't stand them!

re circ only for b18ft. afm see the amount of air passing it so puts the correct amount of fuel to match. as the dv dumps to atmoshere the injectors are still putting the fuel in so it will go rich as it opens. on fast gear changes it will stutter as you open it back up again.
if its not then either the valve isn't dumping that much, you changing gear at low revs or you driving it too lazily lol.

might try with it out and see what happens.

would there already be a recirculating valve in or would i have to get one?

I'm sure its the forge split r mark can adjust to full recirc or atmos
