hi guys, well over the xmas period ive decided to work on my 5! the garage that looked after the car for the past few years before i owned it seemed proper old school when i gave them a ring.

when i first got the car i noticed it pinked on boost so i posted on here asking if anyone had any ideas and a few of you pointed to the aei unit, i cant seem to find where this is located but i did find this pipe that someone has put a screw in the end of, any ideas where it originally went? thanks

That pipe should be left unblocked and it sits at the bottom of the engine bay.

I think that is the carb overflow pipe?? u should unblock it

the pipe should be leading any overspilled fuel away from the hot exhaust/turbo

aei unit should be bolted to either the inside scuuttle area or the outside of the bulkhead matey if your struggling just follow your king lead will lead you straight to it:agree:
also what boost are you running ? by the looks of it your overboost sensor is still connnected ( sensor on boost hose from turbo to intercooler)
iirc this is a failsafe which cuts the cars spark if a boost pressure above 10psi is detected to stop pinking :agree:
hope this helps

:agree: exactly..... inside are the overfeeding fuel ....

This have to conecto to nowhere.... but away from the hot exhaust/turbo.

The Srew must be removed from the hose, to allow this to take atmospheric pressure, and allow to the fuel overfeeding system work well.
